Finally broke her in!

 

Yes, it deadens that noise considerably though roof rack noise is still there. I find that the rear glass transmits much of the noise with or without the bars on. I think it’s due to the slider, a solid rear window would be quieter. It’s like having a door window up in the upper seal but not quite firmly seated.

 

On a 2010? Wow, that’s low mileage. Mine has over 170k, still runs like new.

 

I figure if someone wants them, they're going to get them, but I'm going to make it a pain in the ass for them to do it.

Gave the interior a good vacuuming and wipe down .Changed cabin filter ! Sprayed some Krown rust prevention in the little holes in the bottom of doors ,hood hinges and latch .

 

Removed the badges today. Will paint sometime this week. I wanna paint them the same color as my Toyota badge on the grill...

You must have cut and re welded that coastal offroad bumper to match the trimmed fenders.. I want to cut my fenders too. Just not looking forward to another powder coat bill haha

 

Got inspired by @crashngiggles and changed the jba uca bushings on the driver side. That bolt can go fly a kite

Overall 3.5 hrs to do...not bad for a rookie.

 

Finished cutting my flares. I still need to clean up the front ones. Now onto cutting the fenders...

 

First cut is the hardest.



It's a little easier if you've already put a 4x7 hole in your fender for a snorkel.

 

Yeah. The plastic flares weren’t that big a deal for me; but I’ll be honest, cutting the fender will make me nervous. With good planning and layout, I know I’ll be successful.

 

I made a spacer with a piece of scrap wood with a bolt in one end and a paint pen in the other made my line perfectly 1.75" (IIRC) all the way around then used a body saw to cut just inside of the line the shored it up with a flap disc on a grinder and sanding drums in the die grinder.

I cut my flares less then my inner metal fenders so you can't see the double edge and took some aluminum fencing flat rod and made brackets to keep my rear fenders pushed out at the top they're screwed into where the rear wheel liners used to attach.
