Still a "valid" offer to bring to a dealership to match.

In my case the dealership messed up the title on the truck I've had paid off since January. DMV says 48 weeks until I get a new title. I'm taking my Vroom offer in next week and not leaving until the dealer buys the truck that nobody else will take since I don't have the title (thanks to the dealership...)

I ran Carvana on my truck a few times. Today I talked to my buddy who works for the auto group I used to work for and had him run some numbers on a new truck. He was asking what I thought my truck was worth and when I said I think 30k wouldn’t be out of the ball park, he just laughed and thought I was crazy. I only paid 33k for it brand new and he was like you’ve had it for almost 5 years and put 63k on it. So figuring I was gonna get low balled I figured I would do another Carvana quote just to have something to compare, and if they low balled me I figured I would just sell it to them or see what carmax would offer. Carvana came in at 27,614. After they looked at my truck and seen it was in great shape, they came back with 28k for my truck and with the tax savings that put me at 30,240. I still think I was probably low balled a little bit on the trade but they are giving me the new truck at a great price, so I wasn’t gonna try and beat them up.

Pretty much figured this used car market is gonna crash hard soon, new inventories are gonna be depleted because of the chip shortage and because the used car prices are insane. Your better off buying new. Prices will be jumping because of Corona related supply issues, rising production costs and inflation. Interest rates are set to go up. Most manufacturers aren’t offering much if any rebates. Now was definitely the time for me to buy.

The new and used market is off the hook in so Cal. Tacomas and 4Runners are getting dealer mark ups new and used.

Wait till all the massive debt caused by Covid catches up with everyone.
All those people not paying their mortgage/rent will be evicted.
Inflation will kill the spending soon enough when people come to their senses and refuse too pay 2x what a house /car is worth.

I just submitted my paperwork to Vroom. They offered the most out of all the local dealerships and other online sites. CarMax was 38,600 and Carvana recently went down to 35,566. Sad to see it go. However, I'm now working from home and this is a lot of money that basically only gets used on the weekends. Vroom now offers direct deposit of funds so no more waiting for a check to arrive 2-3 days later. I'll update here on my experience but from other here and YouTube people seem to have a positive experience with Vroom (at least from a seller side).

Im also in the process of selling my wife’s SUV with vroom. Have completed all of the paper work and am now waiting for them to pick it up. Has been pretty smoothed so far.

I did get a quote for my 19 and is was 40,9XX. 1,000 over what I paid two years ago. It was very tempting but decided not to proceed due to there not being anything else out there that catches my eye.

    A few.
With Vroom, from what Ive read, it can take a couple weeks to get through the whole process. If u have another vehicle to drive then ur ok, but for someone like myself where my truck is my dd and only vehicle, I couldnt be without a vehicle for that long. I do have Carvana, Carmax, and We Buy Any Car all local to me but there offers werent as good.

The selling will work IF you have another car too drive, but just like the housing market you can sell ,but then you have too replace which will most likely cost you more than the sale amount you got .

It's a great time to sell and a bad time to buy . I could sell mine and get a 21 for around 7 thousand dollars but my truck is fine with only 28,000 miles and no reason to throw the money away when I can run it for 10 more years . I've had that itch before but like this 17 so much I don't have it at all now .
