Could you use a 1up in combination with a Kuat hitch drop?

Any shorts riders out here? I'm 5'2 and 5'3 on a good day, looking at the new 2021specialized enduro Its size (s2) on 29ers, I have to tilt the bike a little bit to have my both my feet planted on the ground. Is that a hazard for me? I've done fine on 29ers before (2016 stumpjumper) But Enduro just run slightly bigger.

You need to flip the metal piece around, then the rocky mounts will fit in the correct orientation. I had the same issue.

    I’d be into that!
The number of Tacomas with tailgate pads I’d see lining route 9 always cracks me up. There are so many out here. Maybe we just need @CBoy808 to make the SDF bed stickers

Have you swapped a rim before? I'm thinking of swapping my rim but am a bit nervous. I guess just number the spokes and get them as close to the same tension? Maybe I should get a truing stand

I built the wheelset on my previous hard tail. I used zip tie method to get it trued. I kind of just guessed on tension. Admittedly I was always a little hesitant on my work, I think I would bring it in to my local shop for a safety check if I did it again.

Have you already retaped? Sometimes you can retape the wheel with wider tape. I had the same issue last week

If you can't get it I bet your LBS can work magic on it. I'm optimistic you don't need a new wheel

Took some ebikes out yesterday with my gf, one Levo and one Heckler. They are so forgiving that she was comfortable hitting gap jumps and larger drops. Shes been slowly shifting away from xc race bikes and has been learning how to jump in the last month or so and progressing super fast.

Ive used plastic mallets before to remove dents, does a pretty good job without digging into the aluminum.

I'm going to put more time in it today, I think I can get it too. I ordered a new rear tire too. The little pinch tear is right by the bead so I'm sure that's not helping either.

Tension is arguably more important than true. Set tension first then true the wheel, you risk catastrophic failure is tension is out of whack. Grab a cheap(ish) tension meter from Park, it becomes incredibly useful and you find yourself checking tension regularly. You can then true the wheel on the bike using zip-ties in just a few minutes.

I think it'd take more than 2" of drop to fit a 1up, I'd probably need 4" drop which seems a little too kludgy.
I ran across this thread and am thinking of maybe trying a variant using a couple of Rocky Mounts upright roof trays I've got laying around.

Maybe something like this, turned upside down. It's not going to have the anti rattle like one up does, but maybe you can come up with something.

Good looking out! Tension was definitely the root of my concern with building my own wheel-set. I'll have to grab that tool if I end up building another one.

If you just want to swap the rim then you should just buy another Flow S1 rim. Otherwise you'd likely need to change spokes.

Buy a used wheel and keep the hub for spare parts? Hopefully you can get it holding air.

Okay I got it to hold air and seat the tire... Took a lot of bending and a lot of smashing and a lot of sealant and a couple co2's. I'm unsure how much sealant is even left inside lol.

Oh... I also put a hole in the center channel where the spoke holes are when I was going at it with some pliers :itllbuffout:... hopefully that isn't an issue later down the road. :anonymous:

pumped it up to around 30 psi and I'll see how it's doing tomorrow. :drunk:

edit; i got a pair of the vittoria air-liners on the way. so maybe those will help a bit too :)
