3rd GEN BARCELONA RED TACOMAS!!

Ah yeah, that makes sense. I am looking for some black wheels for my Barcelona Red SR but there are so many options out there! Kind of unsure what to get .

 

Yes stock rims for the SR5, just the dark color instead of bright. Those were the 2 options when I did the "build your Toyota" online.

 

Toyota offered an SX package on the SR's that came with the black wheels. You might be able to find them on craigslist, facebook marketplace, or maybe even on this site from people that took them off to get different wheels. I think the part number is PT946-35160.

I joined the BR club on Wednesday and I could not be happier. Those chrome bumper caps and trd stickers have got to go though...

Red and brown are a classic color combo.

 

Finally got it back from a repaint. Took way too long but glad it's done. Time to enjoy it!

No, his is color matched, yours is black. If you remove yours it will not look like his.

For example I recently plasti-dipped mine from color matched to a closer resemblance to yours.

Yeah it’s all a matter of preference. I like the black to match my black badges, wheels etc. Eventually I’ll go back.

 

Do any of you ever feel like BRM is ugly? I own one and love it, but everytime I see another one on the road, I think it's ugly. Is that just crazy bias or what?

 

Right? It really depends on the lighting, sometimes it's a nice deep red, sometimes a bright red, sometimes more of a maroon that I don't really love. I like my Camaro because it's red, like really red. The Tacoma is, well. Not. It's mostly red, but when it gets dark or the sun is on the other side, it's kinda maroon. But I still love it! I was set on getting Inferno in 2015 when ordering but they were so far out that when a BRM TRD Sport arrived, I was sold, even if it wasn't my exact build (TRD OR Inferno 6MT DCSB) it' was close enough and they discounted it a bit. So far, 5 1/2 years in and 80K miles I still like the red, though I always turn my head when I do find an Inferno.

Example: Decent red color in the light of the setting sun in December. (Vivid via iOS Camera app however, but still)



And in February, with the sun on the opposite side, truck more in the shadows.



Paints it in an entirely different light! Literally!

 

I actually like how varied the color is. Sure there are shades I prefer more than others, but in the end, I enjoy that I can take pictures of the same truck at different times and see something different each time.

 

I hate maroon. I like the bright, metallicky red seen below. Glad it's not just me.

 

Not a fan of BRM when it is dirty and on a cloudy day. But freshly washed in the bright sun, it rocks. I’m not sure if that is good or bad though. White is always just white. It’s a 5/10 when it’s dirty. It’s a 5/10 after two hours of detailing. BRM goes from a 3/10 dirty to a 9/10 sparkling so you get a nice pay off for your efforts. But you almost feel compelled to do that work every time it gets grimy.

 

I hear that. I think I have washed my truck almost weekly since I got it a year ago just so it always looks the best it possibly can.
