Alright, I'm starting a build page. As much for me as for anyone, but look forward to any feedback. Bought my 2020 TRD Off Road Double Cab Long Bed on leap day 2020. Here she is right after I got her home.2020-03-01 09.10.01.jpg

First mod was a small one, but will help the kids climb in and out.2020-03-12 19.10.54.jpg

Not much to look at but I got my OEM Remote tailgate lock installed this week. I don't know why this isn't standard equipment, but wasn't that expensive and only took about an hour.

Phase 1 of my Yakima Rack install complete. Tracks and landing pads are set. Spent a lot of time measuring, but I think they turned out well. The cover is not a perfect rectangle so it made getting the rails parallel a little tricky. The adapters for the HD bars are on backorder, so I'll have to finish the install in a couple weeks.

I was able to get four screws into each rack section though I had to modify the capnuts closest to the cab on each side due to interference by the closure brackets.

Finally got my bar adapters and finished the install. Very happy with the results and the versatility this provides.

I used Yakima tracks. They were available and I preferred to keep everything uniform.

Looks great. Are these 60" Yakima HD bars?

I used the 60” and they look nice and are flush. But they are 100% maxed out. If you go with 60”s make sure that you measure very carefully before drilling. If I had mounted my rails another 1/8 of an inch apart they wouldn’t have fit.

Thanks for the heads up. I will be installing the Retrax Pro XR tonneau cover and wanted these bars. Might eventually want the Yakima Overhaul Posts, as well as the Skyline Towers so it sits lower profile on top of my bed. Deciding between 60" and 68". Looks like 60" will end near the middle of the bed rail whereas 68" will line up with the door handles from the side view. I'll look at more photos. Thanks again.

The bed of the Taco is wider towards the cab than it is towards the tail gate. Instead of running the Yakima tracks equidistant from the bed sides which would make them slightly tapered. I ran them parallel. Basically at the tail gate end of my Diamondback they are at the edge, but at the cab they are each roughly 1.25” (I can’t remember the exact measurement) inward from the edge.

The 60” HD bar fits the tailgate end perfectly but if I would have installed them tapered right along the edge of the Diamondback they wouldn’t have fit the width by the cab.

    I hope that makes sense.

I personally think the 60” looks better, but they leave no room for error.

That makes perfect sense. Thank you so much for the photos. When I do get the Overhaul Posts, the overhang with the 68" would look too extreme. I was leaning to 60" because of that and with your photos, it confirmed my thoughts. Appreciate it!
