Yeah I was just pissed to spend 2+ hours disassembling my truck to find out that they sent me the wrong shit. My initial reaction was actually “oh fuck did I order pipes for a superduty?” But luckily, they fucked up not me. Now if only I didn’t have a Bluetooth drive shaft in the Tacoma, i wouldn’t even really be mad

Too beefy for my diminutive truck aura.

    Beautiful 1st gen, though.

Was reading up on OV Tune stuff and saw someone mentioned that stock 3rd gen is a "skip shift" were OV Tune turns it to "sequential shift". I can only imagine one means it skips gears in between and the other sequentially down/up shifts.

Anyone know anything about this? Pros/Cons to either?

Anyone with a Leer topper, Can you please measure the crown between the track bars? Im looking at building my own rack, and want to know how much i need to raise the feet in order to clear the center crown of the topper. Im thinking 1 inch should do it, but I want to double check.

    Thanks

Not sure this week. Maybe the gulches. Have hit most all of the regulars that are open in the last 4 weeks so might have to start repeating. You want to ride?

DO YOU HAVE A TABLE SAW?

I need to cut four (4) 12-foot, 4"x8" cedar in half, turning them into 4x4's. Do you have a setup that could do this? I assume a table saw with a big enough circular blade and some type of roller dolly support thing on both ends to keep it from falling to the ground.

    Yes.

With all the construction the set up is buried deep in my shed. But if you're desperate I can make it happen for you.

I do have a table saw, and... That's a lot of material to feed through a table saw. Most table saws have 10" blades, which give a max depth of 3-3.5". Four inches of material would take two passes--cut once, flip, and cut again from the other side. A cut like that can only be done safely if the board is flat and square on three sides (top, bottom, and one side to ride against the fence), and even then might be sketchy with a 12-footer.

A band saw would be a better choice. Or even a chainsaw if you don't need it to be perfect.

Personally, I'd look for a local saw mill and see what they'd charge.

How accurate do you need it to be?

I believe a standard skill saw can expose 2-1/4" of blade, so snap a chalk line one on side and cut, then flip over and repeat. I rip 2x4's in half like this all the time, but I also don't need to be very accurate and it's just one pass with those.

Agreed on the table saw comments, it will most likely bind the blade and isn't very safe.

Not mine but I have a buddy that has one of those lathes that makes smooth edges on top and bottom and leaves the edges bare so you can have "rough cut" stuff. Could probably turn it 90 and do the other two sides. Not sure what the max opening he can do is.
