My friend at powdercoat had a 3 phase motor go out. Said it was dripping oil o_O

Turns out it had been a tad over greased.

Matches the Ring real nice. Kinda like a GQ machine shop version. Very Chic. :humble:

Any suggestions for a new air compressor?

My current one was purchased 21 years ago (not my picture but I have the same one).

    DSC_0292.jpg

The power switch failed on it years ago but that's easy enough to remedy - just unplug it until you need it. But now the cord has started to fray right at the housing so it's time for it to go.

I don't, nor expect to, have any air powered tools so it's only going to be used for tires and blowing crap off of things that shouldn't have crap on them. Usually to the tune of about 2 times per month, give or take.

I have a sprinkler system but to get to the level of being able to winterize that myself would be in the $800+ range. A friend has a compressor that does the job and so far hasn't objected to bringing it over once a year to do it.

    Recommendations? Things to avoid?

No more than you will use it I wouldn't think you would need much. I have one like this from TSC, have had it for 10 years and it's still going strong.

It's a new customer, they were calling on a regular basis when it was at paint. I don't get it, why call if you know you aren't picking it up right away? I hope the boss got paid for it beforehand but I kinda doubt it.

Were those yours from your youth? The J.D. disc looks to have an older decal on it, as does the IH front end loader and backhoe :D

Yep. Gonna let my little guy have a stab at them. Though they may not be in as good of shape after he's done with them.
 Scale size that's probably a cruise ship mooring line. Should be sufficient :D
