Swapped my CV shafts in preparation to sell the ol girl. Or as a buddy called them, “Johnson Rods”. First side took about 4hrs because I had trouble prying out the old one and a much harder time getting the new one in. Other side took prob about 45mins start to finish.

Big thanks to @EatSleepTacos for the moral support!

The problem is they CAN'T be adjusted properly.

Read the post it should explain how filament bulbs are shielded to direct the light as required by the reflector housing when LED chips (and HID tubes) just scatter light in a half sphere from the emitter.

Well it's not stock, and it's not Toyota of those two things I'm certain, what should be there is a rectangular frame plug made out of plastic, thin very sharp edges, what that looks like to me is almost like a surface mount thermistor.

    More photos?

Did you ever find out what it was?

It was identified as a part used to measure the frame at a body shop. A laser or similar tool measures where these are a frame as it is being straightened or inspected... there is better name for them, just can't think of it right now.

Good eye. Yes I did trim the ends to match, little stuff like that I love to do to make it as clean as possible.

I primed with Rustoleum Primer then sprayed with 2x Gloss black paint and primer. The splatter is gloss white and metallic silver. I used rustoleum acrylic lacquer in a rattle can for the clear coat.

Ok, I installed new bolts back on March 1, 2020....basically 14 months ago and used anti-seize on them. Just some surface gunk. Wiped them down, scrubbed with a wire brush to clean the threads.
I used anti-seize on the back 4 and thought I'd see if using a marine grease on a couple of them (closest to the cab) would produce difference results. I pull them out again in another year and see what we find out lol.

Busy weekend. Added a sway bar relocation kit from Toytec and found the "Clunk" was a loose sway bar end link. Added grease to my SPC UCA which were a little low and also could have been the sound. Tried to spray my Daraks with Slip but the aerosol decided it didn't want to work after half the first leaf pack so I ordered another one. Then cleaned my throttle body which was much needed! I used almost a full can of TBC and had to take the whole thing off to really get into it. My truck didn't know where to idle after that either. Started at 2000 rpm then after I drove around the block 1500. then after about 2 miles it calmed down.

Well it's been awhile with the bed caps and yea the powedercoating isnt good at all. Looks more like paint than powder coat. After moving some lumber around, the coating wore off pretty much right away.
