Retorquing Suspension Bolts

Hey guys,

I replaced my front coils & shocks, LBJ's, rear leaf springs, and rear shocks around September 2019. I had torqued everything to spec and used Loctite Blue 242 as well to the bolts that needed it. I also retorqued the bolts a few weeks after I had installed everything to make sure nothing had moved prior to a trip.

I had some maintenance planned for this summer, and I wanted to see what others opinions were checking the torque on suspension components? I wasn't sure if it was overkill, or an overlooked part of yearly maintenance.

There isn't a need to recheck torque if you use this after torquing down your bolts/nuts. You just visually look at it to verify that none of the paint mark is broken/misalgined.

The paint is a great idea.

I had an alignment shop fail to torque my cam alignment bolts. One of them came off way down in Baja 700 miles from the nearest toyota dealer where I could get a new alignment cam bolt. I found a bolt at a hardware store down there to get me home but my alignment was super super bad.

Had I double checked the alignment shops work and done a better daily inspection (like I do on trips after that) I would have caught it well before it got that bad.
