meat's 2021 moab trip

I have a ton of stuff to highlight. I had an absolute blast. Super glad I built my truck well enough to handle level 7 trails. I'll use this thread to post all the pictures and videos I upload too. I have tons of GoPro footage to sort through still... Battery was dead or card full a few times when I was going into some gnarly obstacles like Mickey's Hot tub. Lots of iphone video too.

I can't wait to go back. Definitely in the fall. Who want's to join me. I wanna camp at Fins and things, Campsite f5. Saved a pin and everything.

We camped 7 of the 8 nights out. Stayed in Bluff UT on night so we could shower and wash off all the black and soot from the fires we burned each night. We stayed just past Hell's Revenge in Sand Flats Recreation area at the Cottontail campsite. Saw Starlink everynight-- some 70+ sats and also a launch. Super dope place to camp!

Baby Lion's Back--- They sold Lions back up the road and a bunch of 1.5M and up condos are going in that spot. Lame!

Damage:
Broken inner and bent outer tie rod. Brought a spare and had it swapped while we drank on Cinco de Mayo for 200 bucks (and they aligned)
Torn boot but intact CV
Bent spindle -- going to see if I can have some cast/forged with gussets. No one makes any. We will see how this pans out considering a stock spindle for 4x4 is $400+ from Toyota.
Rock dust on sliders and bumper
Slight bend I need to fix on front bumper. It got snagged at the top of Moab Rim backing off a 50"+ rock... Prob can fix with hilift and heat (suggestions) lol

Maybe summer for me..

Did Colorado mountain trails first, beautiful but Moab was fun all day.. and shit ain’t expensive.. I can get real Mexican food, burger or a hamburger and the shit not gonna cost me a bill. I need armor and the damn texas freeze killed my truck budget. Still getting the castle back together.

 

Got my rci skids just in time. I have a list of mods I still need to do. And slap on the 315s in my garage

 

Let me know if you end up doing it this summer. I may join you. Shits fun and camping is so cheap
