I may have also bought a 2nd entire FJ T-case to go with the 2x twin stick's I accidentally bought. :drunk:

    :duh:

Anyone looking to do the FJ T-case swap with twin sticks, I can sell you the entire thing ready to drop in. Shoot me a PM.

Yes that's the steering angle sensor, as described in ChrisFix's Prius video I posted earlier.

After the clockspring swap, you should function-test the steering angle sensor by inducing oversteer and checking VSC behaves correctly :D

A sloppy carrier bearing would cause driveshaft wobble. It should be replaced if you can feel vibration.

Might be an opportunity to "upgrade" to the Ford Ranger carrier bearing, but it will require you to fabricate a steel strip to close off the open side.

I watched that video, and must not have been paying attention fully.

I think the issues with running an ice fishing hut as a tent would be ventilation, not being able to open windows in the hot summer would be a killer. This will be my 3rd season with a Gazelle T4 and to be honest it’s only benefit is that it sets up quick. If you are ok with taking a little longer setting up a tent there are better options out there.

I have an ice fishing pop up and was considering using it for camping. It does have some ventilation, but not much. I bought a new tent on sale last year, so will leave the pop up for ice fishing (if I ever get out to do that again...)

    Hey guys,

My insurance company is doing me some problems with insuring my car because I have a snorkel and winch... does anyone that has snorkel and winch on their car have an insurance company he can recommend of?

    Tnx.

Whether a certain insurance company is mod-friendly varies from year to year and depends on which underwriter you get. OF4WD recently struck a deal with Economical Insurance with a mod-friendly group discount rate, but it may come with baggage (like requiring professional installation and an appraisal).

You can try Hagerty under their “Modified Vehicle” policies....buuut you have to have a DD insured already elsewhere.
My 4Runner is super cheap through Hagerty, with hardly any questions asked about the V8 swap, locker, etc. but my policy very clearly states my rig is NOT TO BE A DAILY DRIVER.

Tnx, I got an appraisal for my car because I want to get collision and comprehensive insurance for it, that what started all of this heading...
I contact Economical Insurance, they told me they don't insure cars with snorkels, in general, they don't insure any cars with off-road modification.
I sent an email to OF4WD because it didn't make any sense.

Did you get Hagerty to cover your car for collision and comprehensive as well? the LC isn't my daily drive, so that will not be an issue.

Yes all that good stuff!! Total Loss coverage was a $16/year upgrade. In the event of a write off, they cover my policy value and I keep my 4Runner.
    Try them at (888) 348-8546

I'm pretty hip on Haggerty as well...different scenario...my 86 IROC at full coverage is 120 bones per year. It's all original but that wasn't a concern for them. It's agreed appraised value. Must have a other daily, can't drive to get the groceries or to job.

It's the Pandemic perfect storm...highly recommend, would buy again

My only concern with not telling the insurance company about modifications is what will happen if good forbidden I will need to use the insurance...
I can't believe there is no proper insurance for modified 4x4 vehicles

I have Hagerty as well for my 51 Dodge. Very modified.... $500 per year, no mileage limit, I can drive as much as I want, just not to work as a DD. Agreed upon replacement value, if it gets wrote off, get value plus I get to keep the car.

Other Provinces are even worse. As soon as you say “Off Road” the insurance co. Sees roll over, no insurance. Motorcycles can be in the same boat too.
