Well I got my front wheel wells cut out this afternoon. I ended up using my grinder with a .045” cutting wheel. Used a uni-bit to drill out radiuses in the corners. It all went pretty easily. No major mistakes were made that I’m aware of yet. Tomorrow I’ll de-burr & bend the tabs in.

With the well opened up, you can see how much of that cab mount sticks out! Getting that chopped off on Friday & 315/75-16s installed on Saturday.

Looks good, first time I've seen someone do tabs like that, what's the reasoning?

You can always replace with 1/2" stainless bolts.

If I can't keep these from corroding beyond repair again I think I might go that route!

Don't forget to get longer bumpstops and/or extended them down, with 34's and Fox DSC's, 14" 700# King coils and DuroBumps my tires still touch the top pan of the inner metal fender under full compression. Meaning your 315's will do you the favor of removing that hard work for you if you compress them too far and have no effective up travel limiter.

I decided that since the factory splash guards didn't seem to do much more than give mud and sand a nice place to hide and a way to hold it in as well as wanting to have as much up travel as possible I decided to forgo splash guards.

the new shock had a slightly different bolt at the banjo fitting for the hose to the reservoir…

my guess is they have identified a problem and fixed it.

    no complaints here.

Good advice. I’ll have to see if my wheelers bumps will work as they are. If not, I might put spacers on them.

Super bumps are pretty soft, and your 35s (or 315) are going to be a bit taller obviously than my 34's, plus the loss of top out from the splash guard though not much even with a quarter inch of space on my stock bumps I was still touching under compression and the stock bumps don't squish at all really. I'd probably get 3/8 spacer, you can run down to your local hardware store and get some 1/8" thick stainless washers with a 3/8" hole that will work perfectly.

I had a quarter inch of spacer on my stock ones before I went to the duro bumps, I'm going to put an 1/8" spacer on my duro bumps.

Today I finished installing a wireless rearview/backup camera for use with my overland trailer.

When pulling my overland trailer I often have trouble seeing what is going on behind me. My truck's rearview mirror is partially blocked by the pillars on the trailer that support the RTT. So how do I get a better view of what's going on back there when driving?

The solution (for me, anyhow) was to install this AUTO-VOX Solar Wireless Backup Camera system.

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08B1BFRNX?ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details

The installation is so simple that even your boss could do it.

The system consists of two parts: In rearview camera/battery/solar charger and in display module for inside the cab.

This is the display module. Is comes with a suction-cup windshield mount but I instead ordered some RAM mount pieces so I could install it on my Expedition Essentials TPAM system. The most difficult part of the install was hiding the power supply cable.

    Here is the camera unit.

It easily mounts behind your license plate. The camera is on top and the solar-charged battery is at the bottom. No wiring, no muss, no fuss. The camera transmits the video signal (digital; not analog) to the receiver in the cab.

    Now how cool is that?
