So wait, are saying a 1/2” bolt fits the metric threads on the frame??! That would be awesome.......

The stock bolt is M12-1.25. The closest UNF size is 1/2"-20. 1/2" is obviously a little bigger than 12mm and the thread pitch is slightly different (1.25mm vs 1.27mm). You might be able to get it in there, but you'll be fighting the threads a little bit.

Looks good! You wrapped it yourself? What vinyl did you use? The clear coat on my roof is starting to go away so I need a quick protector

Cross-threading/cutting new threads is just built-in loctite.

Fun fact, that’s also the thread pitch for the shift knob :playball:

Not today but I had my front end practically rebuilt on Saturday. New lower control arms, driver’s side CV axle, hub seals, gusseted spindles, and alignment cams. It rides better now. I just need to get it aligned and get a better set of wheel spacers. They had to throw on a 1/4” spacer for the wheels to clear the spindle gussets.

I think it was briefly. Hopefully that didn’t damage anything.

Thanks! I did wrap it myself (hood and roof). I used Avery brand for the roof and 3M brand for the hood. If you're going to do the roof I would suggest removing the 3rd brake light. As part of that you'll want a new gasket, which can be found for cheap on Amazon or eBay.
FWIW, 3M says 1 year warranty on horizontal surfaces for Hawaii. Longer warranty for elsewhere in the US. I guess because we get so much sun. I removed and replaced my former wrap on the roof 1 year later and the wrap condition was still good, and fairly easy to remove. I could've left it on longer. The paint beneath was just how I had left it. It was great protection from...everything.

A friend of mine has good results from VVivid vinyl too.

I just finished my needle bearing swap today on the lift at my work. I tried to remove the CV Saturday in my driveway, but it was too close quarters to get leverage. Today I ended up holding pressure outward with a pry bar while my coworker hit it with a punch at the housing notch before it would pop out. After that it was about 30 minutes for removal of needle bearing, install of ECGS bushing and new seal, button up, refill diff, and back on the road. CV went back in easy but man was it a bear to get out.
I can't wait for quittin time so I can test it out without the vibe.

Well it’s not the most awesome thing I’ve done to my truck, but considering I’ve already got noticeable gravel pings on my month old King 12” shock shafts… seems worth the $20 to me. We will see how they hold up.

Re spacers to clear gussets, what's the backspacing on your wheels and what size tires you running? About to gusset my spindles so I'm curious if I'll clear without spacers.
