DECKED System Power Outlet Relocation

I picked up a used DECKED system for my DCLB for $350 last week. I saw the deal and I jumped on it as that is a crazy deal. I am excited to get it installed and put to use, however I am waiting on some missing some hardware to arrive that I have ordered from DECKED.


I know the biggest complaint I have seen with this system is the loss of the power outlet, and frankly, I don’t want to lose that ability either. I run a woodshop on the side that has a commercial CNC machine that can cut all sorts of materials. I plan to make a bracket out of HDPE on the front right of the decked system to add this OEM outlet and my end goal is to make this plug and play.


I have ordered the OEM outlet, part 8553004020. Picture below. I am having a difficult time finding the wire harness part number, or even just the clip/socket so that I can make an extension harness. The end goal is to basically make an “extension cord,” so that you can remove power to the outlet that is no longer accessible and apply it to the outlet that will be accessible via this bracket, at the front of the DECKED system. This way if you ever remove the DECKED system, you can restore power to the original outlet.


Any help finding this part number for the harness or clip/socket, would be greatly appreciated. I will keep you all in the loop as I move forward with the build.

To keep things easier (I've seen this done with Decked systems), why not just use this to make the outlet still usable?

You could see if @kmorgan3 could help you out as he's always making plug and play offerings and I assume has a system in place for identifying connectors.

 

I have seen this but would prefer to keep it completely water tight and would prefer not to have an extension cord plugged into the outlet at all times.

 

I have the male and female part numbers for you to make an extension. Do you have the right crimp tool?

I shot you a PM with a diagram and the part numbers You're going to need a sealed open-barrel crimp tool. Amazon has some decent ratcheting style that are affordable.

This is what I did. Undid the wire strap for extra length and used spacers behind bracket where bolts go through. Easy Peezzy. Next I am installing Koplin gun mounts to hold my rifles. I will post pics when that part is finished. BTW this electrical bracket is held sturdier than it looks.

 

No rubber cover for the gapping hole on the bed wall?

 

That's why I have a Tonneau cover. Besides that behind the panel itself is wide open to the elements anyway. Kinda mute to try to seal it up. But alas I digress. Still better than having a cord laying out.

 

I know this is an old thread but how is your system holding up? Any complaints? What Bracket did you end up using for this?

 

Looking to do the same thing w/ my Decked system. I am however going to cut the right ‘ammo’ box to keep everything clean and out of the elements.

Any updates on how the relocation is working and holding up?
