Me either. I'd rather "paint protect" this way.

Nope. The led bed lights was the easiest thing I have EVER done on a vehicle.

Two bolts to take out the tail lights and the pigtail is just sitting behind the light waiting to be plugged in. It is absolutely baffling to me that the truck came with literally EVERYTHING for the lights but the actual $50 bulb assemblies.

Whatever. It wasn’t difficult at all!

I wish I knew the answer for you but the thread was like 35 pages long and I lost track.

I think for the 2017 and prior it was “mostly” plug-and-play but I can’t be sure.

Why are you guys trying to dunk on a guy that prefers to next level detail his truck?

It's not your time, it's not your money and it's not your truck.

    I disagree sir.

You gotta layer the ceramic coating, 1 coat does nothing. Also, always have to follow with the topshield. That combo actually protects from pinstripes. Remember, the stuff I got you cannot buy online. The only reason I got it, is my coworker used to be a professional detailer and I bought some stuff from him. The ceramics you buy online are just okay at best.

I’ve been through some pretty tight spots and only have a few pinstripes on the sides. It really works if done right.

Just to be clear, I am not. Actually jealous of the time he spends on his truck to keep it immaculate. If I lived close by I would pay him to detail mine.

I purchase the custom built Pop-n-Lock from KTJO. It was completely PNP.

Getting rid of the chrome, just need to figure out something with the grill surround now.

To make it look good...…… what do you mean why? Who cares where you park it and what does off roading have to do with it? Just because people do scratch the shit out of their car offroading doesn't mean they don't want to have good looking paint.

Right? Plus, some people just enjoy spending time on their cars to make them look good, even if it’s only for a short period. I try and wash the truck once a week on Saturday, and spend over two hours doing it each time. Is it necessary? No, not at all, but I love stepping inside a clean truck.

Looking good! I have the black grille surround on my truck right now. I’ve had it for about two months and it really makes a huge difference but, I still decided to bite the bullet and just ordered a TRD Pro grille, so I’ll probably be selling mine. 9124C71D-A78B-4523-B505-75A244DC3CD4.jpg

Looks good. I like the SR5 grill just not the chrome surround. Kinda wish it came with SR grill looks a lot better.

That’s what I replaced on mine, the chrome surround. I replaced it with the SR black surround, but I will be replacing the whole grille now with the TRD Pro one.

Where did you get your black grille surround? I derped mine black but in this long road trip it’s starting to get destroyed. I might just bite the bullet on a FAUXPRO grille too...

I got mine on Amazon. It’s like $100 or so. I’m going to try to sell mine but I don’t really know how much I can get for it.

When I had a larger truck and it had to park outside I always washed once a week to keep the dirt and sea salt etc off of it. Dress the plastics and all that to reduce fading. Now that I have this smaller truck its in the garage and I barely drive it so once a month wash so far to get the dust off.

Understood, I'm not new to ceramic coating either. I've always had them done professionally. I know well and good the maintenance needed even on a garage queen show car. :) Even a 6 month and up to 2 year coating have multiple layers. Anyway, good on ya' and hope it works out for you! It's your truck so all that matters is you enjoy it, you like it, and you take care of it. Seems like you're doing what's good for you. Cheers!
