Please recommend a pre-mixed antifreeze for my 1996 2.4

Going to change my coolant for 1st time. I believe it takes 2 gallons. I want the pre-mixed coolant. Please tell me what brand you use.

Is it because you don`t need to mix one gallon of coolant with one gallon of water ?

I can buy a case now I have 12 gallons or so of 50/50

Market the product people will pay for easy!!

 

Not just any water, distilled water. Usually from walmart.

You can use this if too.

 

Funny I have been cutting Antifreeze for 40 years with well water if I had problems I never saw any.

If I want distilled water I will make it rather then buy it.

 

It's stupid cheap so I don't see the point. I've got better things to do.

@1996_2.4 is your coolant currently red/pink? If it is yellow/green you will want to flush as much as possible before filling it up with red.

 

Damn; that mineral enriched water can't be good.

I've seen some nasty shit come out from people using water from the hose in vehicles I've owned in the past.

 

I've got hard water where I'm at. Leaves scales on everything.

 

Just get it from Toyota. It’s almost the same price as the auto parts stores.

 

When for the most the distilled water goes in the drain putting it in a container is easier then going someplace to buy it the way I look at things.

I can have all the distilled water I want just fill up the containers for the most in goes in the drain/

I like the well water much better then any city water thank goodness I have yet to have city water

Just get whatever is on sale at O'Reily's or Walmart or where ever for like $10 a gallon

It's just like oil, brand doesn't matter. Just check it regularly and change it as needed. No need to spend $30+ of Toyota stuff.

I've been running non-OEM green stuff for many years and my truck oddly hasn't exploded yet. Coolant is still perfectly bright green.

 

I heard it's bad to mix red and green coolant. If it's green already stay with that. If it's Toyota red I'd buy more red, from the dealer.
