I prefer my little XT250. Much more versatile. The Grom is fun to dink around on, but it's my wife's bike due to beginner/inseam, otherwise she'll be moving up to an XT250 as well when she can. I call the little Yami our moped. Goes everywhere, light, fun, great exploration bike, urban and camping wise.

I've owned a few. Phenomenal bikes! Would love another.

The wife prefers EFI for her bikes or it'd be the perfect next step. Who knows, I may still talk her into it.

EDIT: to say I have actually found the XT250 to be prefered to the WR I used to own and I have to admit I ride it more than any of my big bikes I've owned. I'm trying my first cruiser (I've ridden 99% dual sports for the last 15 years) and my only worry/concern about cruiser ownership is that I'll just end up taking the little 250 to work/errands/etc. and it won't be worth the astronomical cost compared to another little fun bike. But . . . I need something that can do highways. And the 250 SUCKS for that ha.

I'll be looking to sell my 2000 GSX600F sometime soon. I'm in the south SF bay area if someone is looking for a good running, fuel efficient, fun bike. 2,200$ . Older but good condition. 18k miles. GF is currently learning on it but I want to get her a different one. Katana2.jpg katana1.jpg

you know they do offer aftermarket EFI kits for the tw200...

it would be nice if yamaha rolled out an efi tw200 though like they did with the new xt250

Eh, I like to leave fuel systems alone. I've read too many reliability issues with those EFI kits. Maybe they're better nowadays. I haven't researched them in several years. If the TDub was EFI stock I'd have one tomorrow! And if it wasn't for so many US regulations companies would be able to update their old 80s Dual Sports without breaking some grandfathered in law about emissions or the like.

I had a xt225 before the Grom, I liked it but it was older with a carb and it took up more space in the bed of the Truck. Can’t go wrong with a dual sport though, I really want a supermoto or @FreshOldTaco sv650 to complement the Grom.

This. Best of both worlds IMO.

How much are you going to ask for it? I've always like the SV platform. I'm more partial to the naked version but yours looks really nice with the full fairings.

Thanks it's a sweet little bike with very low mileage. I'm giving TW folks the family/friends discount

Let me know some dates that work for you so we can make a plan. The sooner you buy it the sooner I can shop for my next ride :D

I looks almost the same because it was already for the most part clean and I don't detail a dirt bike. :p I was hoping this would be my solution to a no scrub wash for the bike. Downside is black plastics always leave water spots and just looking eh. Was looking into this to hit the plastics with after:

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000WK5PWQ/?coliid=I12LA7UDG3XCU8&colid=2079LZ8C9DA1A&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

But that feels like going to far. It was fun trying out the foam cannon and power washer setup for the bike though (it's a new setup). I mostly needed to wash the trucks frame because I am welding on it soon and don't want crap falling in my eyes.

Back in the moto days I used to spray WD40 on a rag and wipe down the inside of fenders, shrouds and frame/skid to keep mud from caking on after each wash. Seemed to work alright... but was also probably just me telling myself it worked. Made the exterior side of plastics shed water / repel ok, too. Just don't get it on the frame where your knees or boots grip for obvious reasons.

Been hearing that too, and also people swearing by simple green/purple power. Might mix that into the foam mix. I want as little physical work as possible because I'm lazy and taking out the power washer is a pain in the dick enough.
