ok boys, production run #1 started. i've made a list of the names submitted and will be coming up with a winner soon.

your patience will be rewarded, the machine upgrades i did before diving into production have resulted in a MUCH better result. Here's the first few T nuts fresh off the machine.

Good News: I've decided on a name for this thing! I'm calling it the WheelDeal
    Less-Good News:
technically... nobody won, because i didn't use a suggestion from this thread. *EDIT* this is clearly untrue and i'm a jerk... @Rezkid named this damn thing and deserves his prize and all the credit.
Even-Gooder News: i've just taken a list of everyone who participated in this thread (except that @R4D4G4ST dude, he does not qualify because he's already got the first 2 prototypes in his truck) and put them in a drawing for 2 winners.

    https://miniwebtool.com/random-picker/
i used this tool, with everyone here in chronological order. when submitted, i came up with these 2 names:

    @levie125 and @pescador95

Congratulations, you're going to receive the very first parts of these in the production run! We are probably a week or 2 from being done with production, so please be patient on receiving them... but they're coming your way! PM me a shipping address and we'll make it happen.

Thank you to all who participated here, sincerely. You've pushed me to step out of my comfort zone and take this product to market. It's been a helluva journey so far, and it's only going to get weirder, but i'm happy i'm moving forward... and i couldn't have done it without all you degenerate Taco owner, MTB loving weirdos.

But dude! Your new ones are so much prettier than my Alpha-Test Prototypes. :(

Seriously though, congrats to @levie125 and @pescador95 - I seriously love mine!

welcome to life on the bleeding edge, my friend. Being a pioneer means shoveling new trails and then watching some scrub just go blasting down the trail after you finish. :bikewhoops:

Right on!!! I'm a little miffed you didn't use any of my suggested names, but I'll still give you some free advertising at the trails though

They look really good. Is it just the middle hole that is threaded? Or all three? I assume these are alloy--are you looking into anondized colors too? Can't wait to get mine

On this part (the chain link shaped piece), the middle hole is threaded for the main faux axle. the outer 2 holes are counterbored clearance M6 holes for the custom built T nuts we're using to attach it to the rail. all the main components in 6061 aluminum, material and CNC'd parts made in the USA :oldglory:

    So the kit will contain:
    faux axle assembly
2 stainless M6 Socket Cap Bolts (because you already have metric tools to work on the bike)
ChainLink Shaped main body (powdercoated black)
Custom T nut assembly (probably raw aluminum)

    C37PmhX0ApRaSYaXzqDkS2t8gyjVsZtqYFY4HIAV_fe20a7cda2f55243b70268a1b82ab705d1b1c905.jpg

I am currently going with powder coat instead of anodize, because in my experience ano doesn't hold up well in UV over time, and this thing lives in the bed of a truck. Plus in can powder coat in the shop to keep cost down vs sending out for ano, which is several bucks per piece when i quoted it.
