I build this bracket out of 14 gauge steel to relocate my ultragauge. Very pleased with how it came out.

    Stock gears then, 3.73 I have 34's and I do 2000k rpm at 60mph.

I've considered getting a one-piece driveshaft as I've got some drive shaft vibes, but I've read in a few places that while it fixes the drive shaft vibes when you still have stock gears and big tires but when you get more appropriate gear ratios your drive shaft starts turning faster again and the vibes will come back harder with a one piece.

Is that an early design All-Pro rear?

What rear bumps are you running? I'm pretty sure my Timbrens are really helping my leafs hang in there, the truck doesn't touch them while things are steady but the smallest bump and they're helping support the weight.

I should stick my go pro down there and get a video of them working, should have done that for the durro's too when I went jumping.

I'm sure it would work in a 2012. But it's a lot of screwing around. That's a 2010 temp/compass mounted in the hole where the front sunglass holder used to be. That required careful cutting, remelting and screwing of plastic to fit it in there. Of coarse you could just use the entire piece from an older model. But I wanted to keep that rear soft touch sunglass holder from my 2015 (OH AND THE MIC), plus the older one I got was all scratched up except for the temp/compass part. Up in the headliner area there were power wires already sitting there to use for this, but I had to run a wire for speed down to the back of the radio as well as an illumination wire (that I later disconnected cause it made the temp display too dim at night). Also I ordered an additional ambient air sensor to mount in the grill area and also ran those wires though and up to the temp/compass unit. On top of all that the temp/compass display was a yellow color and since I wanted a better match to the dash and everything else, so I put a clear red color gel (left over from my DJ days) between the LED display and the plastic window to make it look red...that dimmed the brightness which is why i didn't like the extra dimming at night. Not sure it was worth all that trouble cause it was always 3 degrees off from actual temp. But that's what it took. Also stay away from the 2009 temp/compass. It doesn't work with an ambient air sensor. That one wants to be connected to the vehicle computer somewhere.

    Ah.

How do you back up with confidence?

I have my shell on right now which doesn't have any side windows and with my swing out tire I have reduced visibility to the rear and even with my mirrors adjusted out all the way, my backup camera and the rear view I always feel like backing is a blind gamble and I'm just waiting for a crunch. I just start real slowly and inch out riding the clutch and brakes and slam them when I hear a horn which has happened once now...

Fortunately no dings, my truck is up armoured so not worried about it just don't want to be an idiot to someone else.

I try to back in everywhere I can now when it's clear so I can pull out into traffic but that's not always possible.

Been thinking about something like one of these but it would be so unsightly.

    Velvac-RXV-Rear-Corner-Mirror-Mounted-on-2008-Chevrolet-Express.jpg

Now if I could get my hands on one of these from a Toyota Hilux Surf to put on my shell I totally would!

Just how soft are those things? I've seen a video of them and they look like they were squishy as silicone in action.

I can tell by the touch the Duro Bumps are of a softer durometer than the factory ones by far, but I cannot feel any deflection with the force applied by my bare hand even at the tip where it's supposed to be the softest.

    That's what she said.

I have a backup camera in the tailgate handle that displays on my head unit. I also have the blind spot bubble mirrors on my side mirrors. Between that and mega bright reverse lights, no issues. My backup camera is really what saves the day.

But do they support the weight at all when it's just resting on it? Or do they just flatten from the weight? Or do you not normally touch your bumps?

You got any pictures of what the rear super bumps look like?

Is that the OE backup camera? It's got a much wider field of view than my aftermarket, but my factory one quit working and it wouldn't matter anymore now because I no longer have the factory backup mirror, and my swing outs are blocking the tailgate.

I have my aftermarket camera mounted behind my license plate so the camera is just right on top of it, idk if that works with your swing out but that’s another option.

I am about to install an autovox t9 rear mirror to fix a similar problem. I have a rear hatch mounted spare on my GX that creates a significant blind spot for daily driving with people who tailgate.
