Don't forget though, ECT does have separate shift points. So there is a little extra there for us to tinker with.

I don't know much as the tune is locked. I have run it for 1,100mi+ and it just perfectly fits my driving. Smoothness is off the charts. I'm on the MT side. I have no knowledge about the AT side.

That was not the point. Just that completely different tunes cannot be TuneSwitched per OVT's post.

Ah, I see what you mean. No gear lock for ECT + S unless you completely break ECT while in D. And no "stock" and custom tune for other modes.

Nothing was said about GearLock yet that I have seen. That would complete the 2.0 AT Final options though.

Once there was a guy who tried my tune and EVERY other tune available, didn’t like them all and had more demands than the truck is capable of providing.

Sent him a “fixed file” which was stock. Explained that if he wanted a diesel truck towing, corvette speed, and Benz ride then he can use the file to trade the truck back in.

In all seriousness, I kind of like this idea despite it being a joke. Sometimes these trucks have issues (strange for a Toyota right?) and it’s blamed on a tune despite developing weeks after. I’d make it a “diagnostic” mode of sorts, let the truck function 100% factory and if the issues persist then you know it’s mechanical

The downside to GL right now is the loss of ECT +D.

ECT has the ability to reference different torque maps which is great for towing. But S has its own pedal settings.

I’ll need to play with the update when it’s completed, but keeping a tow/haul without GL and with would be nice.

He alludes to gearlock being customizable in the introduction section.

There is no GL right now. Just 2.0 Base Full.

The only old info that I have is the GL would be an option. Flash with it or flash without it.

The Introduction section of the draft user manual that Mat posted a day or so ago includes this statement: "In addition, Gear locking can be enabled or disabled by tuning the S Mode Expanded Shift control tables." That's what wiljayhi probably was referring to.

the PDF I linked explains fully how many modes there are and you can make *whatever* tune you want with each mode in any combination imaginable.

Some of the previous messages when we were only going to have 3 way map switching (like the Tundras). But I had a feeling that wouldn't be good enough so we now have 8 way map switching for every driving combination this truck can do.

Thanks. I skimmed that when it was posted but haven't read it thoroughly yet. My bad.

And, it looks like this has it working easily:

I'd take 04B14 Prem SFOB ported!

Uh, without the single torque map setup though. I've gotten used to the multiple gear maps since I've had the opportunity to play with them for a while now :);)

Well, IMO it didn't really get rid of the inconsistent throttle response anyway. The multiple PTET gear maps allow for more customization. Either that or make the single map larger in the throttle angle axis.

    Interesting.

I am really looking forward to what you and @92ehatch think of life once the 04B42 TPs are out.

    @TermLimits guess was correct.

Yes. It does look like an edit to add that. Possibly more than a bit switch, so I will have some learning to do there.
