Is that display actually accurate to the gallon?
Back when I worked in filling stations we had a long square stick with inch markings. You measured the tank and used a laminated chart to look up the gallons.
Pretty brutal at 5:30 on a winter morning out there with a flashlight.

Nothing rusts better than a Jeep J truck -- except any light truck built by International Harvester.

 

I had an IH Scout for years. Couldn’t kill that thing.

Nope, pretty sure it's the regular old 'meat & feathers' kind.

 

IH trucks rusted away long before they wore out. On the V8s even the thermostat housing was cast iron.

It is very accurate, we have a stick we check it and a chart also. The tanker drivers always stick it before and after to compare to what they brought. It’s usually within 2 gallons.
