I wired it up in the front of the camper, there is more room there. I have another USB port / voltage meter i want to add to the back.

Got the dreaded update email today. Looks like my build missed the cut for the aluminum extrusion shortage.

New updated finish is now end of July/early August.

Edit- for reference they thought they would be finished with my build late April when they sent me my 50% email the beginning of February

Did you reach out to SP directly or did they contact you? I had asked Cindy in mid-April and she said "a few weeks", so I was assuming mid May would be install date. Haven't heard back from them about parts shortages, yikes.

Received the same form letter for the delay.

Originally they were saying delivery around end of July, then it was end of May, now its end of July/early Aug again.
Totally understandable and they are doing the best they can.

(that's a new one to me, will Perfervid start trending now?)

    Have updated the spreadsheet.

Basically if you want side doors, get the Super Pacific. If you don't really care that much, Vagabond Drifter.

There are pros and cons to each option. Feel free to DM me so I don't upset anyone here. I've been following GFC, Vagabond, SuperPacific, Adventure Trailers (AT) Habitat/Summit/Atlas, FourWheelCamper Project M, et al and know most of the issues with all of them.

Agreed. Another thing for us was the sleeping platform. We were pretty much sold on a AT Habitat, due to not needing to remove a floor to leave bed.. and also since they are local to us.. but then we saw the SP and it resolved all our issues.. and imo.. in a much cleaner, well thought out package.

My next jump up was going to be a FWC.. but at that point.. it also negates one if the things we're trying to accomplish.. overall size.

Can't have it all. The SP is just the closest out of them all honestly. After this.. if I wanted a camper like a FWC.. I think I'd just go 4x4 Van.

Put a deposit down after realizing that the SP was designed and built by people with way more brain power than I have.

Short listed to GFC and SP.
Other factors - the early entry price delta and build latency, initial reviews, hinge/latch design, tent material, support structure, wire chasers, bed access, skookum looks, rivet history, this thread and its awesome community, etc.

Check out ScenicCityOverland's recent YT review and GFC comparo.

PS - I have the opposite of buyers remorse and I don't even have the thing yet. #pseudoconfirmationbias

I got an email about a week and a half ago from a guy named Josh. Basically it was a "sorry to tell you this but there is going to be delays and we will reach out soon". He sent me an email today with said update and I double checked with him that my unit was affected by the aluminum extrusion shortage. He confirmed and said that their custom aluminum extrusion vendor estimates the delivery to be latest mid July. They are hoping it is sooner and will continue to work on everything they can without the extrusion.

they told me the same thing as well, the extrusion will go into the powder coat phase ASAP when they receive the materials.

Assuming most have already done so, don't forget to upgrade and or update you Auto insurance noting you have a camper so its covered. Given the cost and time we are all putting into these!

Good call. We were actually on the phone with Insurance today regarding upgrading and adding "Aftermarket Reimbursement" to our Policy to cover all the aftermarket parts. Just ran into this issue last month when a lady pulled in front of me and smoked my wheel, tire, gusseted spindle and wheel bearing... and we're still dealing with it. Insurance would only cover OEM cost + $1000 towards aftermarket. I met that cap real quick with everything in the front end. Fortunately I was able to make good out of the situation, but going forward.. it definitely opened our eyes and we're trying to get it added to our policy.

Hey Coop, btw... you make chips too?
