Are you sure it is not an electrical issue like dead battery. A lot of those lights manifest with a dead battery. Secondly, with a dead battery it may not be as as easy as you think to put the truck into neutral, hence making it seem like the engine is seized. If the starter is grinding against the flywheel it may not have enough power to fully engage. Just thoughts, and like others have said I would check things like seized accessories as well. Usually when an engine seizes there is a little more sign of things having gone bad prior to that happening.

    It died quietly.

    Trans temp warning light.

Release the torque converter from flywheel.

Remove starter so there is no chance it's stuck on the flywheel.

Remove serpentine belt from engine. Eliminate

Try to turn engine over by hand.

I think the OP said earlier that he was waiting a week or two until he had time off work to dig into it.

Just goes to show you that overmaintenance is overrated but sorry this happened.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, you've done 50 oil changes to my 4.

Is there any indication at all this isn’t just a failed battery? A failed battery won’t charge, the truck will die and go “clack” and all the dash alarm lights will pop up. A low voltage battery will still illuminate the dash, but at some point the truck dies.

Just wondering why you think it’s seized OP?

I'll 3rd this with my old 3rd gen 4Runner. Alternator died and the battery just crapped out. Happened while I was on the freeway - fortunately I had enough momentum to make the offramp to a find a parking lot.

With that said, I was pretty impressed to see the 18yo alternator had lasted that long. I'm curious to hear what happened with OP's truck

Doesn't the serpentine belt turn all the accessories? So if one was seized it should be obvious.

I've a hard time believing that he hasn't already tried a new battery or a charger/jumper.

I agree, but it wouldn't be the first time someone on here overlooked a quick fix like that.

My vote is CKP. No idea why, but I feel it in my nuggets that it'll be CKP.

And the trucks warning messages don't help narrow down the problem either. Although, when my battery crapped out in my 2017, I knew it was the battery right away. I don't recall any messages being displayed though. Just the typical sad starter noises.
