This is a great brainstorming session. OP don't listen to these guys. You have a great idea here. And as far as UCA's go, take them off the truck, put 'em in a vice and then use a 5# sledge and bend the UCA to what ever additional angle you want. Once again, screw all these guys, they're just haters! If you need help, you can come over an borrow my sledge!

Thinking welding skill allows you to alter your vehicle's (and its components) engineering is like thinking a butcher can cook a five-star filet Mignon dinner just because both involve meat.

If you can't see the stupidity in your actions, I'm not going to try and convince you of anything. You asked. You got answers. If you don't like 'em, that's your issue.

although this advice will be ignored, what you are doing is not anything different than a top plate spacer, except this way its really unsafe and a waste of time.

Im only kidding about the ban. You dont need to stress about pics. AS for the method of lifting that you chose, As mentioned, 5" lift is WAY too much, and the way you went about lifting, is making the strut longer than what is designed to work. OAL cant exceed 24" without using aftermarket UCA's, and even then, 25" is about the max. If you exceed this amount, then you stress the ball joints, and other components. The shock becomes the bottom out bump stop, and the ball joints become the limiting factor when extending. Being as the strut is now longer, it will try to extend past the designed limits of the geometry, and will fail. OR, upon compression, the shock will now have to stop the weight of the truck, which its not designed to do, and the shock will fail. Either way, the route you chose, while very ambitious, is a bad way to go about it.
