I haven't had any issues with my EVO A since i had it installed professionally. My Tacoma being a long bed, RLD was out of the picture due to the 2 doors on each side of the canopy. It was down to the alucab and RSI. I went RSI because of the window that slides open against the cab, which alucab doesnt offer as an option. I live in the PNW and really hope i dont has any leaks happen, but after owning it for 3 months i havent noticed a single drop - not even when i was the truck.

Finally got my prinsu mounted to the rsi. I had to put some fender trim on the bottom side of the side rails because the side doors wont clear the rack.

Can't wait to get the tent mounted up on the rack.

IN a reply to my own shortcomings I'd like to add Locks for another reason:
Tried to lock the doors for the first time this week. Could barely get the key in the locks. Seems they don't lubricate the key internals before leaving the factory and after 4 months in the rainy, humid, salty mid Atlantic air, some corrosion had set in. So I lubricated them up with some spray, let the lube come out the other side (be careful and mindful of that btw) to ensure a thorough soaking, and back in business. To me, shouldn't have to lube them at all, but what do I know.

I hit mine with a little CorrosionX when I got them as this has been a common issue I've had with all my shells.

    https://www.amazon.com/CorrosionX-L...=1&keywords=corrosion+x&qid=1620937390&sr=8-5

I wish there was an electronic option for locking and unlocking the rear door attached to the FOB like on my last cap but that would mean a single lock.

The worst day of my life was when we were T-boned and rolled by a man running a yield sign.
The very best dog that ever owned us was killed in that incident.
I regret every day not doing more to protect her.
Have spent a bunch of money since on special transport kennels- own 3 Gunner's and a Trans K9 - the Gunners were around $1500+ and the Transk9 (imported from Scotland) was over $1000.
I'd pay anything to not go through losing a good dog that way again.

I tried to search this thread but no luck, has anyone sourced channel nuts for the rails on the smart cap? Trying to mount an uptop overland bravo rack and the channel nuts that came with the rack are too wide.

Look at the bottom of this page. The A2 stainless square nuts are what I used to mount my prinsu on my smartcap.

The products discussed in this thread appear on the bottom.

Duh! Should have looked there, Guess I'll have to drill out the feet to accept an m8 since the m6 isn't as wide.

Also forgot to Thank you for the help, and for anyone who cares the uptop ex Bravo feet holes are big enough for m8 hardware so no drilling required.

In the bed of my truck I keep finding some 1.3" square pieces of rubber, about 1/16" thick and with adhesive on one side. Usually near the tailgate. I had the truck for over a month before the cap was installed, so these must be coming from inside the cap. I've found 3 of these so far. I used a flashlight and could not see any others, nor where they may have come from. Anyone have a clue what these are, and what they're for?

Do you have a picture of the square rubber piece?

Sounds like the ones that are 4 per side and go under the cap but on top of the bed rail. They should be there to prevent the long rubber seal from getting crushed.

No photo, but you're right, that's where they came from. Apparently RSi decided they needed to be thicker, so these thin pieces were/are stuck to the bottom of the thicker ones, and some of my thin ones came out somehow. All at the rear of the cap/bed. Time to visit the dealer who installed the cap....

Has anyone worked out a swap of one adventure side panel and one sport side panel?

I have an adventure topper and after using it for a couple months and especially with the dog in her crate back there I’d really like to have one side that opens.

Yep, this is is my biggest fear. We picked up our GSD Pup 3 weeks ago now and we definitely want to do everything we can to keep both of em safe. I flip flop back and forth between kennels in the bed and harnesses in the back seat, just because I know that the cab is designed around keeping people - even infants - safe. My gut instinct is that a harness in the back seat is safer than even the best kennel in the bed, but also a lot messier, prone to coating the cab in fur, and smellier. The sacrifices we make.
