    Good morning everyone!!!!!

Just my luck that I am down to 5 gal of gas for my mowers/atv/utv. I'll have enough to cut the grass this weekend so I think I'll wait for a few day to see if the prices drop a bit again now that the pipeline has restarted.

I pretty much have the greenhouse stripped and ready for our contractor to re-do it. I want to work on some of the electrical wiring - my father law's Frankenstein approach to electrical work is totally obvious once you get clutter out. As I started pulling the windows on Tuesday I found that a robin had built a nest inside at the back of the greenhouse where the center beam meets the header. I checked out the nest.....3 babies. So, I left up the last piece of siding to give it some protection until our contractor is ready.

I'm also going to have him re-side the tractor garage - I'll strip that one when he is ready to side it. I had to clear a bunch of brush from behind it - time to get the chipper out today!

    Progress so far.

Lotta work 6, Looking great! We should all try to keep our property up.. personal pride, value, peace of mind, etc. I like seeing everyone's projects here, when there's so much negative news most other venues. Thank you!

Rob: The bar that is recommended for a fog application would probably work for me. It does mention a horizontal cut off to the beam pattern. I wish the website was a little more depth in detail with actual beam patterns.

Agreed Carl. I would not want to be Tim Felt or Marie Mouchet, CEO and CIO, of Colonial Pipeline. Both will probably lose their jobs over this security breech.

Good morning all. Mark, it looks like the greenhouse is coming along quite nicely. I do not like roof repair on a shed type structure.

Today is the 2 hour music lesson and then clean the pond filters. Oh yea, I get to do a Dirty Job. Going to try and decide what to plant in my outdoor planters this summer. I know one will have Chili peppers but the others may have flowers to make it a little nicer in the back yard and attract hummingbirds. I have had the small hummingbird feeder out for about a week and a half and have not noticed any hummingbirds yet.

:pccoffee: Good Morning everyone! Supposed to have two lovely days before rain starts again Saturday. I'd complain, but I know full well we can go months without any, so the rivers and lakes have to stockpile!

Mark, the greenhouse looks good even stripped! You have a beautiful property! I also appreciate seeing everyone's work and enjoyment. I can tell there is a lot of pride in here!:thumbsup:

    Good morning all,

Gas has been high here for a few months now, we have been right around $3.00 some slightly above and some slightly lower. Always fill-up at Costco when we have to drive down to the Springs, can count on it being about $.20 cheaper at their pump but they do not have diesel.

Warmer today and sunny - will get out and continue some outdoor projects but will wait on tree trimming as I need more gas to mix and they are calling for some interruption here due to the east coast situation???? Now I call that taking advantage of a miss-hap elsewhere to raise costs for no reason - there isn't a shortage just a price increase - just because they can.

Have a great day, be safe out there

Still mostly cloudy, and waiting to hear about picking up the truck - I'll be he's working slower than he thought he would~! So, I thought I'd brighten up the noon hour with a little flower tour! Maybe Susan @ImpulseRed008 likes flowers too!

    Good Morning everyone.

In the old days, each substation had personal. Three shifts, 24/7 around the clock.

Well, modern days, we can monitor, control, modify all remotely. We need one crew for a whole pipeline. Six people on staff, vs. 200 along the pipeline. Just think of the cost savings!

People hate logging into each computer that had used their first initial and last name and date of hire as a password. But, allow one login, and they have full access to every server. What could go wrong?

Sadly I see this too often. Old days it took a person showing up saying "Hi, I'm Fred for maintenance" to gain physical access. Challenge was each substation would need a Fred acting all the same time. Hmm, it has been done but needs lots of planning. Today all it takes is one exposed trojan worm from the NSA and one person thousands of miles away.

So there days every computer is connected, every subsystem then updated. Car networks do the same. Before car companies realized the implications, it was possible to get in through the infotainment and control the braking system!

Happy Saturday all. (Happy Thursday for those who still work) Went and filled up the Taco this morning. I’m now broke. The cheapest I could find regular 87 octane here in Northern California was $3.95 a gallon. The more expensive stations like Chevron and Shell it’s going for $4.40 a gallon and up. Costco is a little cheaper but Costco always is super busy and the wait can be lengthy. Gas here is up more than a dollar a gallon than it was less than 6 months ago. There does not appear to be and end in sight. And the price here has nothing to do with the eastern pipeline shutdown. I may have to trade the Taco in for a Prius. Nottttt, that will never ever happen.
I was going to build a couple more raised garden beds but I don’t think I can afford the cost of the lumber nor the cost of gasoline to get to the building supply store.
I remember when I was in high school (that’s when dinosaurs roamed the earth) I worked in a Chevron gas station part time . Gas was about 25 cents a gallon and I got a 2 cent a gallon discount as an employee. At least I have my memories.
Have a great day everyone, be safe.

I worked at an ESSO station when I was a Junior in High School. Gas was 25 cents a gallon here on the east coast.

Thanks for the pictures Kurt. I enjoy flowers but I can't grow them...Weeds on the other hand I can have a yard full with no work at all. Flowers can brighten up the day.

$.25 a gallon brings back memories of loading my car with buddies, each kicking in a dollar, fill the tank and going cruising through town. For me life then seemed good then and then I had to got a job and had responsibility...It was downhill after that...not totally.

Hope everyone has a great evening.

I was lucky enough to have wheels in high school — my sister’s hand me down 1960 Ranchero. I’d give friends a ride home from school and they’d give me a dime for gas. It was enough.

    Good morning everyone!!!

I had some running around to do yesterday so I didn't get much work done - vacuumed out the pool and hit it with shock again. Just about ready to swim....except the water temp is sitting at 58. I'll probably turn on the heater next week. I also chipped up the brush I cut from along and behind the greenhouse and tractor garage.

Today, I'm headed out to play golf with a bunch of other former military guys. We get together once a month from May - October for lunch, golf and dinner. Lynn and I went out and played 9 holes on a warm day in early April - other than that I haven't swung a club since last October. I have two goals for today: (1) Don't hurt myself and, (2) Don't hurt anyone else. In that order. :D

Be safe and enjoy the day!!

    Good Morning Folks.
I have a Memorial service to go to today for a good friends wife. She died last year of cancer and donated her body to a hospital for student medical research. It is always aa sad day even though she has been gone all these months.

Isn't that called checks and balances Carl :). You get a check and it balances out everyone else's accounts...:laugh:

Have a great day with your friends Mark. Best wishes for you to hit them straight and staying out of the rough. It will be a good day down here so hopefully it will be up your way as well. Enjoy.

Have a great day folks and be safe.

Those stimulus checks are such a bother...

You only get a single check... and in most cases you have to write a check/use a debit card several times to get rid of the money.
