    I have mods
Using that, going to either a 315/70/17 or 35x12.5/17, I can swap to a 1" spacer instead of the 1.25" that I'm running now to keep the poke about the same.

Sounds like jacked up styles (or no styles) with a bunch of overrides with odd balled style snippets copied in from internet pages or whatever when the person didn't know to use paste "Unformatted Text" into a useful style.

Yeah, its no styles. A 52 page test procedure that nobody will ever print.

Coming from the world of latex, it is an abomination.

right? sometimes I find it easier to nuke all the styles and format from scratch than to try and work with whatever broken styles exist

    oh god not latex

I had a high level college math class where I had to type all of my proofs into latex. time spent: 2 hours solving homework, 4-8 hours typing up and formatting

One of my profs gave extra credit for doing lab reports in latex. I setup a template at the beginning of the semester, and for the most part everything was easy after that. Copy last weeks, delete old text, type in new text, convert to pdf. Once you get in the groove, its glorious.

Nowadays I do everything I can in markdown, and then export to word if I have to.

Yep.. I use it a lot for a convenient way to parsing and reporting on various CSV logs instead of hassling with Excel. Also, I will use it to connect to SharePoint lists like they are tables then add my own sidebar tables for reporting. I go back a long way that that type of product to Foxpro and Clipper.. I use it to make quick front ends to SQL server and larger.

Nice! it seems like if you can build some good habits it would be very useful. We have to get approval from the mothersihp to even get access on our machines. They want us to do everything directly on sharepoint, maybe using power automate for reporting. Sharepoint always seems slow as balls when I try to interact with it, or maybe I'm just impatient. I put together one of the issue tracker apps that microsoft has as a sharepoint app and while it is technically an issue tracker, its pretty terrible compared a dedicated piece of software like redmine. I'm trying to get something better for my team right now, we've got too much stuff on individual laptops and spreadsheets that would be useful for the whole team to have visibility into.

There's ungodly amounts of component shortages in both my industries. 6-8 week lead times on electrical contacters and disconnects when they should be on the shelf items. And 10-12 week lead times on off the shelf hydraulic pumps and motors

Plus crazy lead times from machine shops here in the US, Italy, most of western Europe. Even going with our backup backup D string line up outta China, they can't deliver us parts in a reasonable time frame

It’s going to be a while before things get anywhere close to what “normal” was. Increased demand for computers really hurt the timeline on components. I think Nvidia, Intel, and AMD are saying graphics card production will catch up in 2023.

I would attach to the app's tables/lists in SharePoint then use the Access table viewer/editor and work the tables like they are in a spreadsheet. Much faster than using the SP interface It also supports any dropdown menus that have been setup in SharePoint. Then use Access reports when you need to make a fancy report.
