There are a fairly small handful of features I'd like to add to my 2011 SR5. Of these, it seems like one of the easier should be to make at least the driver's window, if not both fronts, auto-up as well as the current driver's side-only auto-down. It's a very minor thing, but my 2012 Sienna (and the 2001 Sienna and a '96 Camry before that...) have spoiled me.

Is there a later-model Tacoma or other Toyota whose switch would fit and provide this feature? Or has anyone modified the existing switch? In searching the forum I didn't see anything that quite fit the bill, but I may have overlooked it.

In my old Mazda Navajo I was able to just get a junkyard switch from a higher line model and plug it in. Easy peasy. But on the Tacoma I looked into it and it's pretty complex unfortunately.

Its hard to believe this isnt normal. I have a 2000 4Runner that does auto Up/Down on both front windows buy like OP said, out 2010 & 2011 Tacoma's are missing that simple feature

My 2008 Tacoma only had auto-down for the drivers window. My 2019 4Runner has auto-up/down everything, but it's all controlled by the computer, as I can modify the behavior per window.

whatever happened to the good old manual hand crank windows. They went up or down and stopped when your brain automatically sensed they were at the end of travel.

sad but true. Too busy youtubing and living in their parents basement to understand history damn zoomers. Auto down windows are about the laziest invention since the beer helmet and the auto reply email.

Of course, that's because their parents were busy buying cars with power windows. I remember my dad considering buying a car, and wondering if power windows weren't "just one more thing to go wrong." I wonder how many cars, if any, are even available with hand crank windows anymore?
