I think I’ve made a mistake (not sure if it’s a good or bad one yet)…… picked up 2 35s on FB marketplace cheap and mounted them on my spare rims. It looks so good but I know if I go down the 35 route there’s no turning back… decisions decisions

Broke my windshield. I have USAA. I've heard the calibration makes it very expensive to replace.

Is there anything I should know about making a claim? I think my deductible is $500. Not sure how that applies to glass

 

Our old Subaru had lane assist/auto lights/cruise control that was all controlled above the mirror/behind the windshield. Everyone said I needed to have it recalibrated. I didn’t and it worked fine.
Might go without saying but if it’s significantly cheaper than $500 just pay outta pocket. If it’s close or over (it will be if you get it “recalibrated”) I’d call USAA and see what they say.

As a side note I use Erie insurance, they have a $0 deductible windshield repair/replacement add-on. It’s $125 per year for the taco/Jeep. We’ve replaced 3 windshield in the past 2 years, and we have a $1000 deductible.. so it’s saved us quite a bit of cash.
I mention this because it might be worth it to ask USAA (or whoever you use) if they have something similar... if your like us and seem to crack them often.

I finally received my liners. If you're not interested in waiting on Gear Tech I was going to make a template out of them if you want to borrow it to make your own. It may take a bit. I have some other things to take care of first.
