vF Tuner for the 3.5L Tacoma

Who told you this?

First off, anyone telling people that they shouldn't update and continue to use the old FM is wrong. Please tell me who they are / who is saying it.
Second, you have the Magnuson tune, this is uniquely different than normal VF Tuner.

But you can get updated to VFC, not a problem.


When this new update comes out old versions won't work.
You can still flash VFT through our new flash tool.

 

Can't speak for disabling REG keys, but I think the guy you previously quoted misunderstood what they were supposed to do. When we use Techstream, we disable WiFi to keep it from phoning home. That's likely where the confusion lies. Everything else, I haven't heard of that going on, but can't deny it isn't happening. You know more than any of us on that.

Yes, you are correct. It does appear to be an attempt to circumvent checks.

1.3 with Tacoma 8-way Live Map switching is expected to be released sunday. For folks needing to use the software now, please update. We have also posted our final pricing changes for credits with all of these new version releases (which will not change when 1.3 is released, for the new features).

Option to purchase 4 credits is now possible as well.

That new price for 40 credits is going to hurt. Lol..

 

less than 1/3 the price per vehicle of a competing software, and half the price of another competing software. (1/6th when you consider additional fees for TCU access)

Not arguing with you either or trying to change your mind. Either flash service prices increase, stay the same, or people providing services stop doing so.

 

People who plan to offer map switch tunes absolutely should consider pricing it to the time involved. It's a lot of work to customize 8 modes.

Holy crap. Credits are even MORE expensive now!? Wish I would have known about the price hike. I would have bought before the update. Gonna be charging $500+ per tune at this rate...

 

Wow, and they didn't just go up a little, they went up a TON. I used to buy the 24 pack for $280 (about $11.50 per credit) now you only get 16 for $280!? ($17.50 per credit)

 

No you wouldn't have. You would still wait until the last minute... then panic.

 

Credit prices change as a result of available features on all platforms. (Tundra 4 way map switching, Tacoma 8 Way map switching, Tacoma 2nd Gen 2 Way Map switching, Lexus 8AR-FTS Simplified boost control patch, Lexus RCF 5.0L Boost Map Patch - 1rst Gear Lockout, etc).
This is not specific to the tacoma.



We posted a few times that while no decision was final, that credit price changes would reflect available features. It's not a secret it's happened 3 times (with 1 decrease in price of the kit itself). (this is current final pricing for all VF001, VF002 EROM Features available / upcoming) Credits are unlikely to increase from this point, as we have all EROM features done.

 

Just pulled down the latest version. Is upgrade just running the installer, or does the old version need to be uninstalled before running the new version?
