Slot some channels in the plexi and put a screw through. Itd let you get rid of the white uchannel.

Love it though. Make some for my flooring, lol.

I thought about it, but the white channel is providing enough friction hold to where it doesnt easily slide, cannot even see it once it's in the floor. I ordered some felt pile weather stripping that is 3/16" tall to put on the ribs to help keep air from passing through when closed (it whistles some). I might still look into doing plexi u channel to see if it helps create a better seal. we shall see. I was just making 2 vents at a time and snapped a bit. patience isn't my strong suit

Fun with electricity today. Replaced a 3way switch and now functionality is kinda janky. Now I gotta pull both switches and start testing. Sigh.

I'll test switch continuity tmrw. Hopefully, its broke. Easy fix.

The new switch didnt seem to work independently of its counterpart. the other switch had to be in its on position in order to energize the new switch.

I still need to test and map things out. Will report back with findings if nothing obvious jumps out.

Also, when i put my meter on the bare light wires to make sure the lamp wasn't kaput, it was fluctuating around 220. That doesn't seem normal to me, and possibly dangerous?

Edit: quick n dirty map with one unexpected outcome.

Finally got around to putting in a basement utility sink. Had one in my last house and used it a lot. The drain pipe across the floor isn't ideal, but it is the only drain in the basement.

:rofl:Oh hell no! But, the thought did cross my mind when I rented a demolition hammer to fix the hack job done by the plumber on this -

As installed by the "professional" plumber. They used the cheapest back flow they could find and it bangs the whole house when it cycles. No unions to assist with maintenance. They were even too lazy to chip the concrete out all the way around the sump.

No after pictures yet, still a work in process.

    ...and fixed.

Switch was good. Turns out I had the load wire and one of the travelers crossed at the common screw .

Wires were two black and one white. Would have been nice if someone had previously labeled them or used 3 colors. Oh well. Lesson learned!

Now on to custom making the light mount blocks. Here's a gratuitous shot of the new fixtures.

So my laundry room shares a wall with my garage, meaning the 240V outlets are on that wall but on the inside of my basement. Could you safely wire in an additional plug using the existing wiring, but on the garage side and run a welder?

Assuming your talking the 240v dryer plug? If so then no as an electric dryer is supposed to be on a dedicated run.

Lots of people do use that run for welders though but just unplug the dryer and plug the welder in. Probably not an option for you by the sounds of it.

Im going to add one down the road direct from my electrical box. Pretty simple. If you dont feel comfortable doing it yourself then hire a professional to install it. may be only a couple hundred dollars

Well I've been considering it back and forth since I still need to have my old 'fire hazard' electrical box replaced and I would like some more outlets in the garage instead of running everything off the garage door outlets.
But something expensive always pops up before I get around to it. Like a nice $1700 medical bill for my xrays....

Just curious. It seems that new homes have rooms that are small. How large is the master bedroom?
