Is this guaranteed to be the last price increase on tunes or features?
Is this the final version so to speak?
    What comes next?

Download and install. It will overwrite previous.
It's impossible to guarantee. As I posted a few pages ago, some of the pricing is outside of our control. Especially on hardware. We spoke with tactrix and a crunch on cables may be coming.

Perfect example, we are getting more WiFlashes made (when ICs are available) and the price of a 4 layer PCB with copper had quadrupled.

Right now the hardware and PCB cost is more per unit that people paid for their pre orders.

The cost of the CAN bus transceiver ICs have increased in price 900 percent. NINE HUNDRED percent. A 60 cent IC now costs over 9 bucks. Assuming you can even get one.

After 1.3 comes just general stuff, logger updates, table updates, expanded support, etc. Until we want to develop something new. All depends on what is demanded(development wise).

We will do our best to ensure our tool is always affordable.

More WiFlash? Where the hell are the originals?

The guy that coined the term “buyer beware” was most definitely bleeding out the ass...

Next time at least spit on it first before you jab it in...

I hope this iterations sticks around for a while. I'm happy about improvements, but the constantly changing rules and policies definitely gets tiresome.

We are trying to build more WiFlashes to send to the pre order people. They are pretty much done at this point. I did post about this not too long ago I think.

Nothing has really changed at all from a user perspective since VFs integrated flasher. We haven't changed any rules or policies. This update isn't a rule or policy change making people update, we relocated our server to a more stable location.

“Use credits to unlock any ECU and then flash as many trucks with that ECU as you want.”

That rule sure as hell changed.

Hey, I trusted that people wouldn't be stealing / ripping me off etc. Wrong on me.

And let's read into that rule. How many of you guys actually UNLOCKED the ecus y'all are flashing? I can see some of you guys flashing cars and never unlocking a single ECU at all. I can see people flashing 2020 trucks, 2021 trucks, etc and never unlocking that Ecu at all. On the OLD software, when this rule was in effect.

I don’t really follow too much, but who stole or ripped you off? I guess I’m not sure I understand?

What’s the purpose of unlocking the ECU as compared to before? When people “could tune to their hearts content, yada yada”?

Unlocking ECU access (calibration files) has not changed from the very beginning. Once unlocked, you can tune that file to your hearts content.

There is a very small...like 3 people, actively complaining that there is a cost involved (credits) for offering to sell tunes to other vehicles. Does not affect the normal user at all.
They are the ones trying to hold out on the old software for as long as they can probably to maximize their profits.

And the credit by vehicle change was actually requested by some pro tuners as a method to crack down on bogus flashes, fly by night "tuners" reselling stock maps, and people reselling my P5F files.

For some pro tuners, we will offer a similar concept to what ecutek does. (Testing our stuff, making media, etc) in exchange for credits.
For example any pro tuner who wants to show off the map switching tune in. Off road conditions, like mountainous areas where I can't go, will get credits in exchange for making such videos. (As an example).

Still, doubling the price to unlock every single vehicle (not ECU) from $40 to $80 over the course of a few months leaves a pretty bitter taste in my mouth. You've already gotten thousands of dollars from me since I purchased the original OVTune. But you make the rules, keep changing them. Not like there's anything I can do about it.

I did not buy the Protune fat pack so to speak, but I have been offering the tunes.
If you are looking for social media support and videos, etc, I could help you with that. Got a lot of woody areas in Maine lol.

I suppose the bogus tunes part is really an issue, but couldn’t you do the same thing regardless of unlocking a vin or not? Or does it do a file check when you unlock the vin?

As for utilizing the .vft files, do we need to open them through VFTuner and resave them as .vfc? With the 'select calibration' option it can only view the .vfc files with no option to find the .vft, however, I can open/view them in the editor both ways.

    Pricing was $75 for 4 credits. (75/each)
    Then $120 for 8 credits ($60 / each)
Then $80 for 4 credits. a $20 increase, or $5 increase from original.

anyone can offer whatever, we don't put rules on that. Files are checked and CRC'd. But that isn't the only reason. Like previously mentioned, the policy was changed because nowhere did it say "buy VF Tuner, never unlock a single ECU, and flash as many vehicles as you want" and that's exactly what many were doing. I mean explain to me how you're following the rule if you flashed 20 cars and never unlocked a single ECU. Or had your friends build files for you specifically so you wouldn't have to buy credits.

How do you know they flashed them if they didn’t unlock the ecu?
Can you see every vehicle that’s been unlocked? Like on a master file sheet? I know I’ve tuned 2 vehicles and they don’t show up on unlocked.
