Grr my some threw a rock yesterday with the weed eater and whacked my tailgate. I didn’t say anything to him it just wasn’t worth the stress on him. He was just working. If it’s a kid there ain’t much of a point...an adult on the other hand.
I will explain to him before the next time to be careful around the vehicles.

I would be mad either way. Looks like someone took a screwdriver to the paint on your truck. Doesn’t look like an accident to me. That’s deep!

New here, but started to seriouslly build out my back seats. Had a utility package SR so no seats at all right now. Trying to be as frugal as I can. I just spent $230 or so on Back ordered parts. Got the seats/headrest and center console for free. About $350 in the rest of the stuff, but waiting on most of it.

Got the first seatbelt installed here, kinda went into it blind.

Color doesn't match but hey, I'm mostly building it so I can get my son a spot in the backseat to sit in in a car seat.

I had something similar. Bodyshop was able to tape off at the crease and paint the top part without removing the tailgate.

Now look what you made me go and do. I just bought the Molle pouch from your video because it is .5” smaller on length and width than the one I used.
Helpful video. I was so caught up with trying to make use of the straps that I never considered using zip ties. Good stuff.

I would take it to a body shop and get it fixed properly. Total cost estimate would dictate weather or not I turned it in to the insurance or not.

Finally got the Maggie installed. This was just before the initial test drive and fluid top off.

That's either a heavy touch up paint job that you'll see forever, or a professional repaint.

By any chance, has a bike been in the back of your truck? That scar is typically caused by a handlebar hanging over the bedside. :notsure: (edit: don't ask me how I know)

Here they are! Installation was not fun but man are they great so far. Only had em on for a few hours now but they already seem to be forming to the seats better and the wrinkles are smoothing out. 20210514_181315.jpg 20210514_181324.jpg 20210514_181333.jpg 20210514_181345.jpg

Thanks for taking the time to post your results. They look great! I still haven't heard back if they have a version that will work with the seat adjustment but I may go ahead and do the back seats because that is where the dogs are and they are supposedly much easier to clean.

    Really looks great !

Just a suggestion. Check out this company, redlinegoods.com .
I just purchased 2x leather boots and centre console arm rest cover. Quality is top notch. Working on installing this weekend.

Edit: centre console cover installed. I layered some foam underneath 1st.

Finally got around to installing my Diamondback HD cover with Front Runner rack system.

full disclosure the rack install was taking too long and I cheated by paying the dealer $150 to complete it for me.

Installed a new serpentine belt yesterday and my fat belly is sore as Hell today from bending over the front grill for 20 minutes while wrestling with removal and installation.

Funny thing is, I couldn’t figure out why I was getting weird looks from people the past few days while I was riding around. Turns out my truck was making the high pitch squeal that worn out belts make but my ‘old man ears’ couldn’t hear a damn thing! Haha... the wife wants me to order a hearing aid ... no thanks! I was a little surprised the belt went at 85k miles, I got 125k out of one on my 2015 Tacoma a few years back.

Sorry man, that totally sucks! Trust me, a body shop is your best bet. A scratch that deep is a TON of work to fix properly, and you’ll need a bunch of supplies as well. By the time you get everything together, and the amount of man hours you’ll have into it, a body shop repair will be well worth it. Also something your insurance company would cover, but the repair itself may be less expensive then your deductible depending on your coverage.

Here’s a video giving you an idea of how long, and the amount of work it takes to do it right...
    https://youtu.be/Zl_iSYYGBiY

    Good luck man!
    Nate.
