I know @BillDaCat8 used the OE transfer case with the electronic shift with no problems. Without further investigating I bet either one would work, I don't have any electronics for actuator on the t-case.

Update: slow progress, but rather go little bit by little bit than trash a nice transmission. At a depth of 18.5-19mm. looking to get to 19.5 I can feel it engage high gear, but it sounds like it hits solid and rests on the trans case. Trimmed both shafts on the t-case too. The one is a little close. Waiting on a end mill bit to come to finish it up.

    My shit is all stock.
If you do break through; Are you just into the shifter area of the trans?

Maybe yank that shifter housing and have a look-see.

Yes, it is the shifter housing. If you look closely you can see I'm about half way up the shifter base plate.I'm only looking for half mm. I don't think I'll go through using the end mill bit i have coming. It's just to close for comfort.

I did go through a bit into the shifter housing, I'm not super worried about it - I stuck some RTV in to seal the hole, and I'll keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't crack the trans.

That looks correct to me. For the A/T case.

She is mounted!!:D it took a lot of grinding on the one side. Here are some after pics. The top view you can see how far I had to go into the housing. With better equipment it can be done cleaner and I almost think it could be done with out going that high up into the mating flange.

    Awesome!

I would put a glob of RTV in the back part of the shifter housing there to seal it up, just to keep the two separate and prevent any trans fluid from leaking between the t-case and trans.

Soooo, clearing for the TC shift rods in a 6spd is needed for this? First time I’ve seen this needed in the thread but might have missed it.

No, he’s doing something outside of the norm on a different transmission.

@rheath08 Is using an RC62F transmission out of a third gen (16+) Tacoma and mating it to the Fj M/T AWD transfer case.

    Things are happening :cookiemonster:

Put the blank top plate from my Auto t-case onto the FJ t-case for install purposes. Did not want to get anything inside it while mounting it. The hole is almost the exact size we needed. Just need to use my dremel tomorrow and notch out one area so we can access all 4 top bolts to put the twin sticks on.

We installed the 2 sensors from my taco's auto t-case into the FJ t-case as suggested. 2wd / 4wd sensor, and hi-low sensor. Started work on the wire loom to get it all looking stock. Will complete it almost entirely tomorrow.

We have a plan for the Neutral sensor, so we put it back in. PM me for info on what we are using it for. Just dont want it posted in a thread.
