Awesome Resale or Silly Season - 270,000 Miles for only $23,500

I just can’t fathom driving 160-190 miles/day, 365 days per year. That’s insane.

 

I bet that the truck was being used for very long trips. probably work trips.

 

I put my 200k mile 18 model in vroom the other day and it gave me an offer of 24k

 

I brought my '21 home 1/22 with four miles. Broke 17,000 today. It's going to be a heck of a year.

Which is higher than normal because my non work pickup it waiting to get in the shop thanks to all the lovely supply issues, especially out here.

 

Not as bad as you think - depends on the drive though . My commute to my office is 120 miles round trip and I go in 7 days of the week usually. However my commute is very rural (highways) speed limit is 55/60 90% of the way and usually I only see (maybe) 50 cars during each way. I also have no cell service during 1/2 of that commute (each way) so it’s actually very relaxing and the scenery is very pretty.

 

It’s insane I put in mine with 107k got a quote for 30,819...I paid 34,300.

 

3 weeks ago vroom offer on my 2020 trd offroad 6 speed with 27,400 miles was $39,060.

Just put in info again with 28,400 miles and the offer is now $39,760.

If it gets to $45k i might sell.

 

2020 SR5 Carmax is selling for $40K.

 

Yeah, I remember my wife driving from Victorville to Tustin daily and that was 85 miles each way so 170 miles per day. So that would have been about 50k miles per year. Her commute was not relaxing. lol

 

Way too low. Vroom should be able to offer more.

I agree, but any reseller isn't going to give you what a truck is worth. They will snake you so they can make a big profit. Most car dealers are snakes and if you want to get the most for your car, you have to sell privately. I am sure that 270k truck was purchased from the owner for less than half that number. Region is also important. I live in a state were 4x4 and trucks are desirable so there are more here than other places so resale prices may be a little lower.

 

Goodness yes! We owned homes in Miami an the traffic was horrific...that was in the 80s and early 90s. That’s one of the reasons we bought our current home ( a horse farm on a river) to retire. There are days I may not see 15 cars on my hour commute....it’s just so hard when I travel to places like Chicago, Atlanta or such...I will have to quickly adjust....my rentals always seem to be Tahoe’s or something similar and I can’t believe I have not wrecked one.

 

That sounds nice! Phoenix has more traffic and people than it does rocks and cacti.

 

It looks like the sweat stains in the seats are included at no extra charge. For all you 3rd gen owners getting generous offers consider yourselves lucky. My 17 has 10k miles and the last few offers I received were 29-33k. However, blue book was as high as 43k last time I checked.

I’m not selling. I got the truck less than a year ago for less than that.

 

I just bought a 17’ DCLB with 55K on the clock for 30K.

This dealer is insane. I’ve spent a lot of time in and and out of dealerships, and one of my friends managed a VW dealership. Needless to say, I know what business strategies are.

They usually mark up trade ins by 3K. So my best guess here is that they way overpaid the previous owner so they could get a deal done.

When they overpay the cars sit until they go to auction. But who knows, some fool may buy this.

 

The Carfax service history is weird regular dealer service all the way up to 101k, vanishes for over a 100k and it starts again at 215k at Big O Tires

I wonder what happened that made that person stop using the dealer.
