Nice, but this seems Inconceivable

 

i live in a metro area

people regurly commute 100-125 miles 1 way everyday

got friend that has that many on a S O U L ........no issues

bought new as a throw away...................................so far NO issues

known fact to detroit

hi-way miles at legal speeds have far less detriment to the vehicle

i had a 75mile commute years ago.....................................

touched brakes 3-4 times a day

maybe 3-4 cycles thru transmission

front pads went 125k miles

got a distant friend round trip 125 miles each day 5 days a week

recently replaced engine at 330000

 

Damn that’s a lot of miles per day for work and commuting.

 

My dad had a 100 mile a day commute, so that's 25k a year without anything else.

Hell, a buddy of mine does 30-40k a year. He's a traveling repairman for copiers, printers, etc.

 

Just barely broken in. I'm hoping for that at least, at 117K and currently in the garage getting a frame replacement.

 

Exactly, highway miles are much easier miles on the vehicle in every way. My dad hit over 200K on his little Datsun long ago and was still the original clutch.

My son does 100 mile round trips 5-6 days a week driving into Atlanta. But he makes GOOD money working in electrical construction. They clock in at 6AM to beat the morning traffic and clock out at 2PM to do the same in the afternoon. You get used to it.

My 07 is at 214000 with no issues.

 

My cousin is a union plumber and does the same. 2.5 hours of commuting takes its toll. Only “worth” it when you’re young. As you get older realize time is something you can’t get back. 2.5 hour commutes are not worth it
