Just put my new Hooke Road tailgate panel on after seeing a few of you talking about them. My knees, hands and ass are pretty stoked and no more refreshing beverages in the dirt. Thanks folks.

Hard wired my GMRS radio to constant power so I won't be talking to myself after restarting on a trail run. Recently I held up the line who was trying reverse out of a mud pit as I was talking away about a deer spotting with no power to the unit. That was embarrassing. Having my dc plug available again will come in handy too.

Red/black combo wire is impossible to find so I used individual 14g wires in a 3/8" sheath to the battery and fender ground by hacking apart the factory plug, retaining the 2 pin female lead to the unit and the fuse case. Looks sano for a temporary installation.

Waiting for my Blue Sea mount to be delivered next week so I can complete the wiring clutter solution and add a level of protection.

Adjusted the phone mount to the new S21 so it actually charges while running Avenza Maps. Just noticed this problem on yesterday's run. Highly recommended mod.

 

Clay bar, fresh coat of wax and sealant. Can't remember the last time it had some.

 

Made some drop brackets so my Waterport would fit below my rolling cover.

Also installed the Caliraised molle panel and strapped my first aid kit to it.

 

I hate chrome or anything silver on vehicles, unless they're a classic car and have actual chrome. It's not much, but a few coats of wheel paint and matched the Toyota emblem to the truck.

I know I’ve been on this forum too long as I actually understood everything you were saying. To a newbie, I bet that looked like you were speaking another language.

Emblem overlays from Amazon. $30 and they look decent. Hopefully they will hold up.

Haha! It’s Duplicolor Satin black wheel paint. I’ve used it before back when I had a Jeep; it’s easy to use and holds up super well.

I thought it would be a fine time to.....

wash,
clay bar,
apply ceramic coat,
and then of course buff out my truck.

That’s a fair amount of time an effort but it looks great...my hope is that it will help keep it clean and of course protect it.....time will tell and I think correctly applying it will direcly impact how long it will bead water and protect.

Meguiar's G190532SP Hybrid Ceramic Wax just because.... I have no idea...probably Amazon reviews or maybe I like the color of the bottle, I am not always logical or rational.

 

That looks really good. Did you put clear on them too?

 

nope just two coats of the satin, if it gets scratched up it’ll be easy to touch up.

 

Clutch on the compressor go out? Mine went out awhile ago (replaced under warranty) it was the ground wire on the clutch that corroded and lost connection causing it to stop working. I covered the new clutch wires with grease to keep them from breaking down again.

 

Installed the magnaflow overland series exhaust. LOVE IT.

 

Pretty close to what I'm doing on a similar truck. Hopefully I can get away from hammering and cutting but I don't expect to be that lucky. Nice to see an example of what I have to look forward to. Nice truck man.
