It's definitely louder than stock. But I personally enjoy it.

So you picked out 2 fans that are cheaper and less powerful, left out the controller and adapters to use the stock shroud and call it a rip off.

Those other 3 vehicles the demands on what they need to cool off compared to modern engines is a complete difference.

Just found it amusing, everyone I know complains about road noise from bigger tires or exhaust drone, suspension squeak and now fan noise on these trucks and I always thought its not that bad. Then just realized it right now that its probably because of my perspective with what I live with.

I dont know about the 3rd gen trucks but my 2nd gen has minimal sound insulation compared to other cars ive owned also.

You can buy the same model fan for around $100. plus controller for $15.~$125.

And it's funny how you think those older rigs need less cooling, but Toyota uses the same or simular clutch fans in all of them, including the later Tacoma's.

I'm not saying this product sucks, as I'm sure it works well(as all of my past electrics have). I'm just trying to help my Tacoma bothers out by showing them
it can be done right for under $300.

Feel free to pay 3x the cost for a turnKey set-up. I'm not saying your wrong, just saying the kit is overpriced.

You don't even know which fan he is using which is shown by the 2 examples you gave......SO NO you cannot get the exact fan for 100 bucks nice try though. No the clutches are different they have different thermostatic switches and different oil viscosities.

I didn't say older rigs needed less cooling the demands of cooling on an older 22r or FJ engine with not as much crap packed into an engine bay additional coolers in front of the radiator, etc is different. There is a reason why the radiators in the newer tacomas are double the cooling capacity of an 80s 22r P/U. Cooling demands are different than needing less cooling.

You aren't trying to help you came on here made some big head claims with almost no direct comparison and less than 1/2 of the products, time, equipment, and so on that is offered in this kit.

I'm not buying this kit so I have no dog in the fight as to justifying my purchase by calling you out. I just don't like seeing dopes post crap like you did and whine about the cost. Go build this exact kit for less than 300 bucks and sell it for 300. I'll make a wager you can't even get the actual fan used for under 300 and not the cheap repops of said fan. In fact you can't even get the SAME fan controller for 1/2 the cost of what you are saying you can do.

Take some more effort next time and compare apples to apples not a rotten crap orange to an edible apple.

$15 for a controller? Lol bud, when your controller craps out at the worst possible time and your truck over heats....
The kit is by no means a rip off. To call it that is an insult to DEO. Could he have put together a pos kit like the parts you have linked? Yes. But when people's controllers or fans take a shit they are going to be pissed at him. The parts used in this kit are OEM quality which comes with an OEM price. If you wanna cheap out on the part that keeps your engine cool, I suggest sticking with the clutch fan since it's actually very reliable. Plenty of people have had issues from those crappy flex a lite setups dying on them.

As a full disclosure, there's is definitely a load in the alt. I was running the AGM mod, and was seeing voltages well below 13v. I switched to stock alt settings and still seeing around 12.8-9 v, with truck in drive.

I have not seen a drop in my voltage readout with AGM settings mine will range between 14.3 to 14.5 using Scangauge.

Interesting. Around what settings on the controller and about what ambient temperature? My voltages drop so low, you can hear the blower motor accelerate when u come off an idle.

Controller settings are as they came. Ambient temps high 70's to low 80's. It hasn't gotten to hot here yet.

Roger. Curious how it'll fair when the temps rise. I've been playing with mine, but it seems to put a hurtin on my alt.
