What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Made some drop brackets so my Waterport would fit below my rolling cover.

Also installed the Caliraised molle panel and strapped my first aid kit to it.

 

I hate chrome or anything silver on vehicles, unless they're a classic car and have actual chrome. It's not much, but a few coats of wheel paint and matched the Toyota emblem to the truck.

I know I’ve been on this forum too long as I actually understood everything you were saying. To a newbie, I bet that looked like you were speaking another language.

Emblem overlays from Amazon. $30 and they look decent. Hopefully they will hold up.

Haha! It’s Duplicolor Satin black wheel paint. I’ve used it before back when I had a Jeep; it’s easy to use and holds up super well.

Today after work AND effing with a Keihin cvk 34 carb attached to this




I thought it would be a fine time to.....

wash,
clay bar,
apply ceramic coat,
and then of course buff out my truck.

That’s a fair amount of time an effort but it looks great...my hope is that it will help keep it clean and of course protect it.....time will tell and I think correctly applying it will direcly impact how long it will bead water and protect.

Meguiar's G190532SP Hybrid Ceramic Wax just because.... I have no idea...probably Amazon reviews or maybe I like the color of the bottle, I am not always logical or rational.

 

That looks really good. Did you put clear on them too?

 

nope just two coats of the satin, if it gets scratched up it’ll be easy to touch up.

 

Clutch on the compressor go out? Mine went out awhile ago (replaced under warranty) it was the ground wire on the clutch that corroded and lost connection causing it to stop working. I covered the new clutch wires with grease to keep them from breaking down again.

 

Installed the magnaflow overland series exhaust. LOVE IT.

 

Pretty close to what I'm doing on a similar truck. Hopefully I can get away from hammering and cutting but I don't expect to be that lucky. Nice to see an example of what I have to look forward to. Nice truck man.

True. Additionally, while following a chrome bumper truck on the trails yesterday, it looks like he's in reverse when the sun hits it. Can be slightly unnerving at times.
