Pro tip. Dry wall steamer for decal removal!
    Usually leaves no adhesive behind.

Hey guys, I peeled my OR decals off about a month ago, thinking I wanted the clean look. Now I kinda miss something there, and I’m thinking of going for the matte black to match my badges etc. I want to get the placement correct. Since I no longer have the OEM decals to go by (masking tape method), I was hoping maybe you guys might be able to fill me in on the measurements for the correct location. Have any of you guys done it like this before?

Same here. I wanted all matte black to match blackout package. I used wd40 to remove the adhesive. I rubbed it with a microfiber towel and ended up with a haze in the paint. I had to hit it with an orbital and polish to bring it back.

I also changed the location and brought it down a little further, since it was a bit bigger than the OEM decal. You'll be ok eyeballing it, just make sure its level

Had some custom decals made to honor my former employer...

Never really understood the "debadging" look some people like. It's too plain, in my opinion.

Thank you...although I had one guy come up to me in Big Bear and said he loved it, but it gives away the element of surprise. Can’t say he’s necessarily wrong

Well, if I were to report the BFL infringement, I could get a free membership!

Then again, being a guy that makes decals, I might just have to make one of my own. :bananadance:
I really like the look of that one.

If you want to change it up, do it! I went totally custom, working with fellow TWer @amirak to create miracles in vinyl…

When I removed mine (replaced with custom vinyl made by @CBoy808 ) I used my wife’s hair drier. Allowed me to keep the heat low and not worry about f’ing up the paint. Still never let it linger in one place and keep it a decent distance from the surface.

In all fairness it was her old one having been replaced by a fancy gift from yours truly. It’s basically mine at this point, but I like to throw her credit in case the karmic universe would like to reward me somehow.
