If for any reason someone needs a specific .vft file converted to .vfc, PM and tell me which file.

You cannot just change the extension. It has to be done with VFtuner.

Man, we really need someone in the KY area. It's too far for @PapaRee (I know even if I did bribe him with a boil). I check the KY forums every week, still no one that I see. Geaux Tigers!

I am in the camp that hesitates when it comes to modifying/flashing stuff. I worry too much about bricking something.

Customer Service, Customer Service, Customer Service! This guy @PapaRee has unsurpassed customer service. I think all will agree that his tuning is pushing the envelope for perfection, as our trucks should have come from the factory. Even more impressive is his customer service and willingness to work to assure he has a satisfied customer. My personal experience is he has gone above and beyond to satisfy my compulsive strive for perfection. He always answers my stupid questions and is willing to make changes I asked for. I know we all brag about the tunes but I also wanted to show appreciation for the customer service as well. Hard to find in this day and age!

    2018 manual on 35s 4.30 gearing

Got my truck tuned by hcfr-taco22 today process took maybe 30 minutes.

absolutely insane how different the truck feels. The 3500 rpm power surge is gone and that takes some getting used too. Was able to get about 300 miles in today off road / highway / city and was super impressed. The amount of power in 1st and 2nd gear is night & day. Also being able to accelerate in 5th and 6th gear is something I’ve never experienced. Lol! Also the 7200 rpm red line is fun as hell. Furthermore saw a mpg increase of about 2-3.

The truck drives like my 2nd gen 4.0 did. Power band is nice and truck feels lighter. This is how it should’ve came from the factory. If you’re on the fence do it.

Yessir! This is a rarity among the aftermarket Tacoma Tuning vendors. @PapaRee and all the KDMax crew aim to please and we hear that time and again. Good customer service to compliment the best tune for the Tacoma. 36-24-36, Oh, what winning hand!

Has anyone posted a video of the whole tuning process from A to Z? I think it might help some folks like who might enjoy the ability to tune ourselves along with the ability to get tuning adjustments if we feel like later on...

It would be a boring video as the whole process literally takes about a minute. That is pretty realistic too. @MGMSangTaco has flashed me a couple times until I finally found the perfect tune KDMAX 6.0 SLT, unless he comes out with a better one. Adam comes out hooks up a battery backup in case of lost power. Plugs his already booted up laptop into the OBD. Thinking he might do something with ignition, but I am not paying attention. Bam, 30 seconds later he shows me a display that shows it loaded. I drive away ecstatic. Now if only my wife would be so happy after 30 seconds.

A poll would be interesting to see what versions are being ran between the reg/prem and tip in options available.

Got mine to flash just last night after getting my Master Key for vF “Flash n’ Log” (Lite version).

Starting off with LT to be on the safe-ish side. I’ll have to find out how it drives today or tomorrow when I finally get out of my garage. It should be a crime to flash a new tune and then not get to drive it, haha.

Considered either starting with the regular version, or SLT and working my way up or down but thought LT might be a safe middle ground. We’ll see! Or perhaps the wife will see! I’m probably going to love the tip in but I’ll laugh my butt off when she squeals the tires exiting the driveway. Haha. She’s no stranger to power though as she got to daily drive my Camaro SS when her Crapisan was in the shop until we got rid of it. Was so jealous.

Thanks PapaRee for the lightning fast responses! I can finally purchase regular fuel if we continue to rocket up in price. Just passed $3.50 for 91 ($2.89 for 87), and that’s not even bad compared to some parts of the country. Looking forward to saving some cash and still having a great tune!
