Has anyone in here with the 5 speed 2.7L relocated the main shifter instead of the transfer case shifter?

RC62F and FJ AWD case in. I'll finish the rest tomorrow. I did not set my filler plate correctly so I will have to touch it up.

Got the mechanical done today. Did a short test drive around the block. It drives and it appears I even rebuilt the t-case properly.

Can you please explain , I used the stock FJ shifter from the transfer case and my stock trans shifter and everything clears without any modification, it’s a little tight but it works perfectly , my transfer case came with the stock shifter . I’m going to upgrade to the core short throw shifter when it’s back in stock but I drive mine every day and don’t have any issues . I’m not running a twin stick so I can not say how that is .

life is good here thanks. Got some plans to travel out west to do some wheeling later this year. Might actually get to use the truck for what I built it for haha. Glad to hear that the FJ case is treating you well, I know for me I was getting tired of replacing unreliable electronics in the 4wd system.

Well this isnt my pic, but im swapping an R156F in my truck and the shifter is bigger and appears to interfere. Just trying to figure out what the best plan is to get more clearance. Looks like the FJ shifter should work okay but the trans shifter is gonna interfere in 5th and reverse most likely. But theres lots of room on the driver side of the console so i was thinking maybe relocate the trans shifter and call it a day

We made good progress last night :cookiemonster:

I am in need of some assistance with a Toyota part number for a plug for the FJ t-case.

I want to get the plug that goes on the other side of this 'female??' fitting? So we can utilize the Neutral sensor and keep it all looking stock.

Thanks I appreciate that!. I am headed out with @HomerTaco to visit @Littles and do some hiking and wheeling. Don't know if the final agenda has been established but I believe Colorado and Utah are on the list at a minimum :)

As far as the P/N, I'm willing to bet it's 90980-10923. You'll have to source the terminals and sleeves unless you can find someone who makes a pigtail.
