So a couple years ago I went King adjustable up front, king shocks in rear, AAL, and JBA UCAs for my 2010 Tacoma.

Anyway, the JBA UCA's have been absolute junk. Ball joints have failed twice, and now the bushings are shot. They have squeaked non stop, and now sound like the front end is going to fall off at any second. Alignment shops also tend to be an annoyance.

Looks like I can get the new greasable bushings and install a zerk fitting. Might as well also get whatever the current ball joint setup is, since mine will probably conk out again soon. Or just order a reputable brand that isn't still R&D'ing a product.

But, I'm sitting here thinking. I don't do any crazy off-road. Truck is really just used for truck utility. These UCA's are trash, and the king's (while nice), will have to be rebuilt at some point. Seems like a waste to me. So why not go with a milder setup and back to stock UCAs.

Would bilsteins with OME be what most run before going to adjustable coilovers? Or maybe a TRD Pro kit someone removed. Not looking for any crazy lift. Maybe just level the truck, and ride nice. Off-roading is just dirt trails/exploring type. No rock crawling or massive terrain changes. Running 265/75r16s.

    What’s your driving goal?
    Why is greasing hard?

Mostly street driving. Dirt roads every now and then, but not in a hardcore off-road nature. 4x4 rarely needed.

1st gen JBAs bushing weren't greasable. I greased the ball joints more than enough. I feel the early design was inferior (lots of failures and at least one redesign, possibly two). Truck didn't get driven much these past couple years, but will start to get used a lot more. Maybe 10k miles in last 3 years.

Go with Bilstein 6112/5160s. Set the 6112s on a lower clip setting. They ride great, can handle abuse, and can use stock UCA.

Should I leave the King's in the rear, or swap out to the 5160's?
