Airbag light

Have a 2005 Tacoma prerunner with airbag light on the dash it was coming off and on now it stays on. Looked under driver seat and found one harness that has a wire out of connector closest to the console ? Wld that make the airbag light come on? Fuses and relays checked and are good ! Don’t have a picture to post just found it when airbag light stayed on

Did 05s have airbags in the seats.... i don't remember. Yellow wires? Then yes those are for the airbags and yes, if one came out i imagine it would cause the light to come on.

 

Yes I think so I will try to get a picture of the wire on Tuesday when I’m off work. I think it is a yellow and black wire at that connector. But yellow one is out and looks like it broke off

 

I dont think side bags came out until 2009.

 

Oh ok but read on forums where the harness under seat may be broke or bad May cause airbag light in dash to come on and stay

 

I believe the seats may have some sort of weight sensor to show if someone is in the seat.

 

Did you have something on the passenger side seat?

 

Yes the sensor works in the passenger side bc the passenger side air bag light will say on. The light on the dash console stays on now and I think it may be because of the broken wiring harness under driver side seat. Thanks

 

The connector with the red and yellow wire. The yellow is broken off

 

That could very well be it. Do you research, and be very careful when messing with air bag,,,,, anything. If you take it to the dealer, there's a very good chance they won't repair the harness, and will replace with new.
Also, you're in the wrong forum, there's a second generation here, that might get you to more help.
