For giggles the other day, put my info in the Vrooms site, just got an email offer for $39,000.00, I paid 32.3k for it about 6 months ago. Not selling, lol.

I had my 4 Runner in for its 10K service and walked around the lot and found this.... You should have seen the salesman's face when he asked if he could help me was priceless....Under that chicken scratch was 10K over market adjustment for a cost of $61K

i'd tell them they can stick their market adjustment up their ass..:)

few weeks ago we were looking to buy a corolla for my father.. one local dealer had a market adjustment of 4-5000 dollars one one that he liked.. i told the salesman that no way we would pay that.. he said he could take that off if it was the difference in a deal.. i said yea take that off and you will also take some off that msrp.. he didn't like that... went to two other toyota dealers and no market adjustments.. he found a blue one he liked and we got it for no market adjustment and got a little off msrp... screw those crooks that do that shit..

I sold my 2017 TRD PRO (manual) to vroom end of March.
They offered me 40,300 back then and I owed about 24,000. My truck had 21,000 miles. Im sure I could have gotten msrp or over if i had waited a few weeks.
Vroom "pre listed" my truck at 43000, then raised it to 47,000 once they actually listed it. It sold in a few days, It was clean for sure. Unfortunately, it was a victim of the dreaded timing cover leak, just barely starting to show up.

The process was pretty painless and it was all over in about 14 days. Payment was sent overnight to the bank and the different to me.

I see this "bubble" as temporary. When everything settles down, I am not sure that we will see these prices again unless of course the dollar spirals out of control. (inflation)

I ended up using the equity to buy a sweet 1995 diesel 80 series land cruiser from Japan. Its always for sale too... for the right price.

Overall, vroom was a good experience for me.

FWIW, I put my wife’s Disco 5 into both Vroom and Carvana. Their auto algorithms didn’t come up with answers, but Vroom did come back via email a few days later with an offer. It was about $3k below what would pique my interest, and about $4k more than what I figured they would offer.

After escalating with Vroom over the weekend to my surprise, Monday 5/17/21 they sent me an email that Acertus has been assigned to pick up the truck. Vroom said they will be contacting me in 2-3 days to pick up the truck. Waited all week and no communication from Acertus. Called Acertus 3 times for some kind of update. I waited on hold for 10+ minutes and each time their system would tell me no one is available and the call would end. Called Vroom to escalate again...and Vroom tells me Acertus is still looking for a driver and likely get a call early to mid next week. So extra week waiting and now hoping they can pick my truck up sometime next week...

Vroom/Carvana both offered exactly 43k for mine (21 trd pro with 8k miles). Which isn't BAD but it is no where near what others are getting ... like 35-38k for trd off roads from 16-17

2016 trd off road with 70,000 miles. Only the tow package. $28,155. Paid $32K brand new ($35ish OTD) if I remember correctly. Not high enough to tickle my fancy.

2016 TRDOR 4x4, 44,000 miles, and I'm in Texas. Vroom offer of 34k, Carmax was at 32,8 and Carvana at 33,1.

I paid 33.9 in June 2016. 5 years later and I can get my money back? Times are crazy. Very tempted to get out of it and buy a V8 4runner and invest the rest

Vroom just offered me $51K for my 2020 PRO with 8,000 miles! That's over $6,500 more than I paid for it.
