Saw this pic posted on "Orange Tractor Talks". Thread was asking folks to guess how this happened. I replied it started with " dude, hold my beer", and ended with "no way dude!".

At least the tractor looks unharmed,...and, it was only a Ford, so.

Got some use out of my Kubota (GL3130) yesterday. Cherry tree down in hay field. Nice firewood for next Winter.

    Nice and clean.

Replaced the offending cable, found the wire to the coil a little loose so sorted that, new plugs arrive soon-ish as a mate grabbed them on his way over. Starter and switch good. No replacement plug wires on hand so hoping they will be good to go until replacements can be sourced. Of the two oil petcocks on the side of the pan, one has its adjustment tab missing making it a ballache to open. Luckily it’s the lower one and with the upper open you just let it weep/drip until it stops and that will let you know that you are at the max level.

Heading out in a few to pull the carb to clean and inspect. I’ve worked on a few Farmall carbs before and they are almost as easy as ‘30s era John Deere carbs.

New mower arrived yesterday. Should say “my sons”. For now I’ll take it.

I see a chain binder on the ground. Most likely didn't check tension after going a little ways when everything had settled or have an extra safety system in place.

Pretty foolish to pull a backhoe with that size truck, even a dually with a 5th wheel would be pushing your luck

Driver made more than one mistake I’d bet!

That is an extra, pretty costly over the long haul when it'll run you a tenner and a pizza or a Jefferson for each mow. However, he WILL know exactly how high it will pull a wheelie on hard ground.

And don't forget the condenser, it is often overlooked but will fry your points in short order if it fails.

[I just rip both out and install a point replacement kit or module. Usually stupidly cheap and so worth the money.]

That looks like an L series Kubota...6-7k lbs tops with attachments and fluid filled tires. Well within the limits of a 10k tag trailer and f250.

No kidding? I assemble backhoes at Deere, nothing I’m around is anywhere near that light.

I did a bunch of tire work today getting ready to paint my 3205 and prepping wheels, switching good tires on to golf cart wheels as I'm converting the spindles to 4-lug boat trailer hubs. Broke beads with my new HF tire breaker and was happy with it.

Did a little test of Van Sickle IH yellow to see if it's close enough to suit me. Looks good and I will proceed to use it to paint the 3205 in Yanmar Sc2400 colors. This was the spray can version on the back side of a wheel but I'm gonna buy a gallon and use hardener. I'm having custom decals made for it as well.

That was my guess, as well. Now, THIS guy knows how to tie down a tractor.

The weight shouldn't be an issue. That looks like an L series tractor, so well below 10k even with loaded tires and backhoe. Even the biggest Kubotas, the M-series, probably wouldn't be much over 10k in loaded-tire TLB form. Still within spec for a properly fitted F250 (as long as you secure the load correctly, at least!)

Yeah I didn’t realize anybody made such small backhoes. Deere’s lightest (with a boom & dipper at least, not the landscaper kind) is 15,000 or so, on up to 25,000!

That’s why so many folks do backhoe work with a skid steer & mini - they can pull those around much safer.

Anyway, thanks for the correction, I digress!

Thanks, getting excited about painting it now. I can't get my ebay decal guy to reply to me though. Any suggestions for an online custom decal guy?

I've heard of someone on here making decals but I can't remember who it is

A M62 with a loader is 8925 lbs without any rim guard.

F-250 can conventional tow ~15000 lbs in that generation. F-350 even more.

Are you talking TLB's, or actual dedicated excavators? Because they've got their overseas-manufactured compacts that are available as a TLB, and those wouldn't weigh anything close to 15k
