They’re filming the new Dexter a couple miles up from my house this week. Took an extra 10 minutes to get home from work this morning because of all the traffic at base camp.

Decent week ahead of us boys! Weather is gonna be nice. Pollen is brutal though!

Yesterday went fishing off Scituate, caught as many haddock as can fit in the cooler. About 20 of them, shoulda brought a second cooler. Look how calm it was, we are 5 miles offshore at about 10:30am:

Dying over here. I'm down in RI near the water, that's been helping a bit. But yesterday I went up to Needham and sat in my sister's back yard, only after being out there a while did I realize - we were sitting UNDER a flowering tree. Tree polen is what gets me. I was jacked up for like an hour. Switched my alergy meds this morning though, the ones I were taking felt like they weren't doing shizz. And added a decongestant. This year has been kicking my ass.

Yeah, the cost difference is insane. A comparable frontier to tacoma is 30-40% cheaper. the xterra/frontier isn't great looking and the xterra, especially, is very plastic-y

If it was a practical decision, I would be in a 2019 or older frontier any day of the week over my Tacoma. I bought the Tacoma because I always wanted one. Next truck will probably be not a Tacoma. Not sold on the new drivetrain on the frontier, the 2019s were slick though. When I was looking I probably could have saved 10k if I bought a '19 Frontier over a '20 Tacoma. Replace the head unit for <500 bucks, and good to go forever.

Someone did out the maths on reddit too - the Tacoma is more fuel efficient. But we're talking like 1-2 MPG difference in the 19-20 MPG neighborhood, so the math said that it would take like 250k-300k miles before the Tacoma is worth it with the higher up front cost.

Welcome to the 6+ tire rotation club.. I'm about to get my 8th tire so I can start phasing one pair out that is running too low for my interests.. it looks like tire rack in my loft since I have an additional 6 tires for the truck for my 265 setup that I only apparently use for inspection now haha.

BRUTAL! I was outside the other day, it was like it was snowing in my yard, big, huge clumps of that white fluffy pollen. You could literally see it just pulling off the trees in a slight breeze. I don't know when tree pollen season is over- hopefully soon?

I already need to put my seats back in for inspection. I don't need to add more to the "for inspection" criteria.

I'll probably stick to 6. 8 would be nice, 4 on 4 off and leave a spare steelie underneath, would be able to completely plasti derp the whole set each time!

I need to sort out storage. I have a garage, it's a mess right now. But once I can clean that up I'll probably keep the spare 1 that isn't mounted under stashed in the garage somewhere.

It's "over" down here, only a few stragglers. Hopefully end of this week I am clean, will probably stay drugged up through the weekend and try to cut them off Monday. But when you travel North or inland, it adds a few more days. Down here was brutal 3-4 days ago, and going north to Needham I went past that line of "incoming spring" and it sent my allergies off again. Hopefully the meds change does something.

Why do you need the seats in for inspection? I would have thought that as long as the driver's seat is as it should be, the rest is sort of ancillary. I know lots of people who take out their rear seats for tool storage, I wouldn't have thought the front passenger seat would be any different. Also wouldn't surprise me that there would be some stupid law about it either...

Passenger seat disconnected leads to an airbag light, in RI a solid on airbag light fails inspection.

:notsure: not a big deal - still have the seat, easy to put it in and out, as long as I don't need to TQ the bolts to spec, can just chuck it in and do the cal with techstream (which I don't have yet, but will need anyway for tire rotations).

    I'm on my 2nd, 2nd gen Frontier.
It isn't as "nice" as my 3rd Gen Tacoma, but, the Tacoma isn't nicer to the point of making up for the cost difference. I bought mine, because I always wanted one.
But, between the dealers, and the recalls rivalaing the Charger I got rid of last year... I wouldn't consider another 3rd gen.

The new driveline in the Frontier, it MOVES. Will it be as reliable as the 4.0? Only time will tell.
    Mine is. 6mt as well.
If you want to climb over one, take for a drive, just let me know.

    Exactly.

And on the pollen... I'm doing some work in Quonset this morning... Evey little gust, looks like smoke coming out of the trees across the street

Yup, very similar to cod, great eating fish. I'm going to be making a lot of fish tacos over the next few weeks.

The what you need in your life is to make some pickled red onions. So simple, and so damn good on everything, but especially fish tacos.

That's not my concern. The engine and transmission are fine. The issue is - there's a BUNCH of stuff that connects the drivetrain to the chassis, electronics, etc. All that shizz is going to be for 2020, and 2021. The 2022 will be the new design. And the 2019 is the old design. So those 2 years will be shenanigans to repair when anything goes wrong in that network of parts that are only there for 2 years. I'd avoid a 2020 and 2021 for those reasons.

I'm slightly afraid the next generation will be (a) "Nissaned", and be brought down to the level of their sedans and the newer Tundras Titans :( and (b) "Kiaed" and have not much technical or mechanical advancement but have a pricetag that matches those that do :(

Same here. A ridgeline would have been a much better fit, the Frontier would have made way more financial sense, the Ranger was a better feel and drivetrain (although stupid tall bedsides look stupid). A full size F150 better drivetrain, more room, just as expensive, better fuel economy, not going in the garage anyway so who cares about being a little bit bigger, feel roomier, etc.

But - I have always wanted a Tacoma. Once this one gets to 300k I'll pitch it, probably won't end up in another one being honest. Although...forgot, said it a million times, I gotta put mine now on Facebook see if I can get out for net zero if I can then F it I'm bailing, I'll get a Versa for a few years

I follow, and agree. Which is why I jumped on mine when I did. Mine is a 16, and 6 speed. None of those were a concern for me. In fact, I got all I wanted, and nothing I didnt... no leather, no sunroof, etc.
BIGGEST thing I wish it had was a power rear slider like the Tacoma.
I'd never miss it, if I never had one...

Shelburne Falls, right? My girlfriend's uncle lives there and was telling me that a few weeks ago.

The girlfriend hates fish, so I rarely get to have it. But she's gone until Tuesday night so it's fish for dinner today and tomorrow! Definitely salmon one night, not sure what I'll do for the other.
