Rubbing on the upper control arm. Turning completely to the right.

It is really the combination of a few choices, to get 285/75r16 to fit. I would not say that all it takes to add 285/75; is some minor plastic trimming & different wheel. Each wheel offset & tire type/brand is different. In my case the selection of this exact set-up helped me achieve no issues under full lock and flex: 2019 TRD PRO wheels (Offset +13), 285/75r16 Toyo Open Country RT. Between my wheel/tires choice & some of the clearance mods I made, I would recommend this to anyone and feel confident I was not leading them astray.

I know what you mean, I was just being overly simply in my response. It takes a combination of elements to get a 285/75 on a 3rd gen Tacoma. I’ll save your post for the future though. Really didn’t want to get spacers or new rims… such is life!

I went with General Grabber A/T-X's in 275/70/17 on the TRD Pro Wheels (4Runner). No rubbing at full lock or at articulation. A bit quieter than I remember the BFG's being.

275/70r17’s will fit with the TRD Pro rims. I went a few months before hearing my first rub, and it took going into tripod mode on a major decline. And then randomly one time going into a super steep driveway, but the rub is all plastic, nothing on the UCA. Also, I’m on stock TRDOR suspension.

Seriously nice setup and stance. Can't believe how good those 275's look on your Taco. Had my OEM Leveling lift done 2 weeks ago and was nearly decided on Wildpeak 265s as I thought there would be some rubbing since it's only a leveling lift...plus the extra weight of a 275 concerned me. Based on how your's looks, think I'm going to go for the 275s. Just waiting for the FSW 2021 4R Pro rims to ship (17X8.5). Sure hope there is no rubbing with 8.5 rims.

THANKS! I read that a few folks had rubbing issues running the 275's on the stock 16" rim, but I think it was more of on offset problem. The 17" TRD pro rim is pushed out a bit from stock (almost an inch) so there's more clearance at the UCA and the fender lining (at full lock). These are 17X7 though - at 8.5" wide, that's 3/4" on either side of the rim (depending on offset of course)...tricky.

Hmmmm...Now you have me re-thinking the 275s. I may have not fully considered the 7" versus 8.5" diameter of new rims wrapped in 275s. The FSW rims are 0-offset. I know 265s fit these rims with zero issues, but not sure about 275s. If anyone has insight on 8.5", 0-offest rims, wrapped in 275s (leaning towards Wildpeaks), with TRD leveling lift, please let me know.

If I was running 275 I would get 4runner wheels. 285 and you need bigger than a 7".
