vF Tuner for the 3.5L Tacoma

Will the new 8 way map switching tunes come preloaded, or are these just examples of what can be done? Do these only work in Low4?

 

Mat says the 1.3.0.0.0 has an auto log and drive feature. ??? does that mean SC users could "log" and "drive?" Magnuson said their SW uses this function. Cryptic but hopeful. Maybe in a few weeks we will know more. A self tuning option would be nice. I have one on my Harley - works like a charm. I am waiting on 1.3.0.0.0 to update. Hoping it happens SOON!

No. The license is Flash and datalog only. If you currently have VF Tuner you already have these functions.

 

Awh crap - give me the AutoTuner option like Harley - Ask for the Stars and hope for something close. Must be the Auto DataLog feature - that should be useful for us FI users, right? Regardless I will update as instructed. Any of that 1.3.0.0.0 coming in the near future? Thanks for the selective clarification. How about the rest of the post ? 1.3.0.0.0.

okay I am going to post this and I really hope it helps you understand. Because you have been going from thread to thread lost and confused.

1. You have a magnuson kit.
2. you have a tune provided by magnuson


because of that, none of these updates are relevant to you. VF Tuner 1.3.0 release is not relevant to you.
Map switching is not relevant to you.
Flash and log lite licenses, not relevant to you.
There is no auto tuner.
There is no auto datalog feature.

None of these updates, None of the upcoming tunes, *none* of it is relevant to you UNLESS you are trying to make your own tune.

If you are not trying to make your own tune you can pretty much *ignore* this thread entirely. You have your tune from Magnuson. That's it, that is where the story ends.

The same goes for *anyone* with a magnuson kit. You have your finished tune, you do not have to follow VF Tuner updates anymore.

Please tell me if you're still confused.

Maybe he has more than one Tacoma... Maybe he tunes other people's vehicles. Why are you coming here and being an asshole to everyone all of the sudden. Maybe you should go back to your own forum now. Permanently.

 

I am not being an asshole to anyone. On the contrary some of the magnuson kit owners have been down right rude and demanding as hell out of me. I am trying to make it clear to him, because he is posting here, other threads, and on our forum how lost he is, that since he has a magnuson kit and magnuson tune, he doesn't have to worry about ANY OF THIS. IF magnuson releases a tune update in the future all he has to do is contact magnuson.

He posted on our forum that he needs this update so that he can stay on top of any possible Magnuson tune updates. When I tried explaining to him a few times that IF that were ever the case all he needs to do is contact magnuson. He doesn't have to worry about any of this.

 

Does anyone get the “connection timeout 10s try again later” error after selecting the calibration file? It worked two days ago and now won’t get past selecting the calibration file

 

Yes I do have a Magnuson SC and Tune. I also paid for a license for P5F and and upgrade fee to .vft which I used before going to Magnuson. So I do have a licensed interest in updates. I won't bother you anymore about Magnuson's issues - I fully understand you drew the line between supplier and vendor. Yes I was not clear on the update or functions. I doubt I am the only one uncertain on the usefulness of all the MAPs and recent updates. Maybe a complete definition and relationship of them and their uses would be helpful. Some we can and have figured out - the rest is pie in the sky. I will go to your VFT Forum and unsubscribe for the good of both of us. In all sincerity thank you for your accomplishments in making the Gen 3 a better vehicle for all owners.

Ok so there have been so many changes, updates and confusion I’m completely lost.
I still have a dongle and would like to send it but I’m not sure what I need.
I would like to get whatever flash tools I need to flash tunes.
Maybe some user created tunes but I seem to only trust OVTUNE and would like to flash the ultimate when it arrives.
I’ll never edit my own tunes as I’m a set it and forget it person.
I will need to start from scratch as I’m PC challenged and try and work my way through all this.
So wait for the last 1.3 or whatever it is

Also will I have to buy the ultimate when it’s available or will we get this in a tune pack when I send in my dongle.
Was hoping not spend any more money after the 7 hundred plus I spent for the OV kit.
I had this kit for three to four years now and only flashed three tunes and have completely forgot how to flash and was on 1.01, 1.02 and 1.03 but have been on 04b04 for about a year (dealer flash)now and really want the ultimate and be done.

 

You might want to post here also! I think Mat is only answering questions on his web site now!

SUPPORT@OVTUNE.ZENDESK.COM send an email here with your order number and name. Let him know you want to do the dongle trade in. He'll give you the address to mail the dongle to, and you will get the vftuner software for free. Also let him know what ECU ID you are for the tune pack, which should also be free.

Question will the tune pack have the ultimate tune when it’s released..?
