So I grew up in the hood. Had numerous Break-ins and so as a hard working, tax paying productive member of a Society we all live in have had learned a lot and I’ve really had zero theft issues since having the mindset that someone is always out to steal my stuff and it is true. My wife said remember there’s always someone watching you whether it’s admiration, curious, casual or up to no good that statement is true.

So have owned 91 accord ( 2nd most stolen vehicle stolen ever/ 1st 95’ Honda Civic. Never had issues.

GOOD ALARM and always use it. Even for a quick run into pay for gas. Keep sensitive on the higher side.

THE CLUB. Steering wheel lock device
Unless they cut or steering wheel to take it off it’s not driving away.

PARKING. Park next to good lighting at night and high traffic areas. Risk a door ding vs stolen. This also applies to home. In your driveway have a high watt LED front porch light 75-100watts and turn it on every night. Thieves hate two things light and noise, so also buy a big dog or a lil Chihuahua anything that barks

If you want to go the extra mile :

Remove your distributor cap wire every time you park it and keep it with you.

Camera: front /rear and interior with motion sensors active

    GPS TRACKER INSTALLED

Anything else they would need a tow truck.

PS. I surprised a “tow truck” driver in my driveway at 3am in my underwear and my glock 21 w/TRL-G Stream light attachment. Needless to say he wasn’t they due repo he said he was “turning around” I was up early for work and watched him “turning around” for 4 minutes.

Any car or house anti theft ideas. We love to hear them. We have to look out for one another.

I suppose I'm just not that smart. But I figure if we actually punished vehicle thieves the rate of auto crime would come down.

There is a fine line between being overly cautious and becoming a micro statistic.
Sometimes it doesn't matter the neighborhood you live in. I personally know of someone who was murdered for their range rover at the parking lot of an very high end shopping mall.
Turns out, criminals have cars and travel too!
Best we can do is try to slow em down, and hope that at the very least you can protect yourself and your family.
That being said, I completely deflate each tire after I park, I put a club on each wheel (tired and steeering) AND the driveshaft (not sure what it does but saw a YouTube video about it).
Last line of defense is a piece of chewed gum on the seat.. every criminal hates getting gum stuck to their pants and it drives the value of the vehicle way down. Bubble Yum works best.

You pulled a gun on someone in your driveway that your thought was there for repo?

Sounds like you are the poster child for common sense!

Well, what would YOU do if someone was trying to take back the thing you're not paying for that you agreed to pay for by signing a contract?
Clearly the only solution is brandishing a firearm and intending to shoot said family man only doing his job that you caused to be there.

Wow. My first option would be to move if I were you.
I moved out far enough people don't come here especially those up to no good.

Ha! Ppl in nice areas get robbed too. As a matter of fact ppl in nice areas tend to not be as vigilant as far as outdoor lighting, cameras, double locks.

ya I hate southern Cali inland area bro

Step #1: LOCK THE DOORS - It's crazy how many "break-ins" happen in my neighborhood, but they forgot to lock their doors and left valuables inside.

Another thing that saved a car for me once was a fuel pump kill switch. It was a pretty trick setup where you had to push a hidden button to activate a relay while cranking the key. I should look that one up again...

actually it’s almost paid off stud!!! I’m ahead 2 months like always. This is a scam in my area. My buddy is RSPD and it’s a common scam that they run when there’s an gated community with no overnight parking they find cars parked on the street and told them without getting permission from the owners of sad property like my parks owners. They’ve done it to other peoples cars here before and when you go to report the car there is no company that claims it. I’ve dealt with repo men in the past when there was a car in the family that was behind on the payments I caught him outside taking it I kindly asked let me get a few things out and it’s yours I can’t argue when I’m in the wrong this guy was up to no good and I made sure that he knew that I am up and I protect my and my neighbors property that’s all.

I find having a house that doesn't have wheels and a hitch a pretty good deterrent to someone thinking of stealing it.

I'm having a hard time finding my distributor cap, tho....

Weirdly specific about your tacticool light attachment
